My mom told me this morning she saw it on the news. I yahooed it. Then I looked at TPR. Thanks for bringing the news here. Losing King Kong is new news to me.

As of now, all that has been lost or damaged is:

The video Vault
2 blocks of New York Street
King Kong Building is gone : (
Courthouse Square(back to the future)has been destroyed, but I believe that the courthouse itself has survived.

The theme park will open at 12:00 today. I doubt the studio tour will.

The sky here is very black because the video vault building is full of plastic and film, producing a thick black smoke.

I thought King Kong wasn't operating anymore. But Back to the Future is destroyed? Wow.

WoW That's insane! I hope no one intentionally set the fire, it's sad to see icons destroyed in a matter of minutes like this!

I haven't seen the overhead footage but my impression is at least a side of that square would be destroyed, not the clock tower courthouse.

Thats sad news. I just hope no one was injured by the fire if the attractions was even open anymore.

Oh man, tonight I watched a story that recapped the whole day of the fire. They said the Back to the Future courthouse is destroyed. Doc, is there any way to go back and prevent the fire?

Thats Horrible that some major movie icons were totally destroyed. I wonder if they will just rebuild what was lost or say goodbye and build something new.

I guess the Hill Valley Preservation Society ran out of funds to "save the clock tower".

Moving this to General talk... this is not an amusement park.

Also, refrain from just posting a URL. At least start the discussion.

Everytime I ride a coaster, it valleys. I've never been on a stalled coaster or had one roll back (except Wicked Twister and what was Superman: Ultimate Escape, which does that by design).

^Amusement for some people...does have dark rides...or did. Has transport rides, or did.

You know, I made the comment. "Sounds like an inside job" to my co-worker and he accused me of putting words in his mouth. He said the exact same thing about a restaurant locally that went up in flames in my area last weekend. And apparently somehow, I'm in the wrong. Must be the fact he's over 50 years old...those damn senior citizens.

My friend and I were discussing insurance fraud when thinking about the fire. This is an extension of a theme park so I liked where the thread was.

Something has to be said when the first three people I talk to and first things I read are the same thoughts as mine. As much as I hope corporate America is just as evil as I've always known it is, I hope this turns out to be some simple accident. Thats my heart talking, My head says, "Oh Yeah, Insurance Fraud."
