It's Firefox 3, but that is a good question due to the auto updates...

I wonder what the current record is if there even is one on this. If not i'd say 650,000 is a good start. I wonder if it will reach a million by download day.

They are creating a new record, so there isn't a specific number to beat. I guess it's just a fun event to spread awareness of the awesomeness of firefox and get more people to download it.

Did you guys look at the numbers of those countries? Not a single zero. And even in the "american hating" (no flames) countries, there's some pretty high numbers. Looks like the guys at Mozilla have come up with something everybody in the world can agree about.

I hate it.

The "new" ""helpful"" address bar crap is bull.. I type "th" for thrillnetwork.. and the first link that shows up is for my Flickr? Flickr: Canobie Fan's stuff tagged with thorpe Yeah, real helpful

And I'm seeing this for a lot of sites I wanna go to. When I type C for my own site the first SEVEN links all start with A's...lol

The new address bar takes some time to adjust itself. Took a couple days for me (but it really depends on how frequently you use it), and now I couldn't imagine ever going back to the old address bar.

The bar is 'smart' and will learn what you visit most and update its results based on frequency of visit and time of most recent visit. If you're using it for the first time, obviously it won't give you the exact results what you want, so just give it some time, it will learn.

I use Safari. No need to use anything else.

Internet is Internet.

I've had one of the earlier RC's for firefox 3 for a month or so now. And Kyle pretty much summed it up, internet is internet, as long as a browser can save my bookmarks it's all good.

FF3 SUCKS! All my saved passwords are gone. I'm just glad I have them all written down. If you download be prepared to re-enter a lot of info.

You guys are crazy. Firefox 3 is better than 2 making it the best browser ever. I'm not biased.

Did you uninstall 2 before installing 3?? It should just update and you will retain all your addons, settings, passwords, bookmarks, etc.

coastrsrsweet, we're not saying our browsers are better, we're saying we just don't care.

I was obviously talking to the people who said that they hate it and that it sucks.

I don't care that you don't care; just understand that it is the best.

Yes I uninstalled 2 before installing 3. Besides losing all my passwords it lost all my other saved info. But even worse is that a lot of my addons don't work with 3. Luckily I had done a back up earlier and just restored my computer. All is good now running FF2 Maybe in a few weeks when all the bugs are worked out I'll try again. But for now I have all working well and like the old saying " If it ain't broke...."

Why uninstall 2 first? Of course you'd lose everything! You should have just installed 3 so it could import all of your settings, then clean up any FF2 mess. FF3 is awesome!

That was a fair, rationalized, and well backed up argument supplied with great evidence and reasoning.

You don't get it.

We're saying that we don't care that you believe it is the best, it's just a browser.

On that note, Extensions and themes are cool, but there are other faster browsers (as far as loading pages goes), that take less HD space, and suit our needs.

(Don't refute it, there are numerous independent tests that say Safari and Opera have substantially faster CSS and Javascript load/render times than Firefox 3)

Edit: Also, AIM or PM me if you want to take this further- it has little to do with the Guinness Record, and it's near a flame battle.

The whole point of a password is that it is something you will remember that no one else will figure out. Writing it down defeats the purpose.

This digital age pisses me off sometimes.

I for one, haven't experienced a single problem that I can attribute to FF3. A small bug on facebook is most likely facebook's fault (image loader).
