Smart phones

Do have a "smart" phone? It seems everyday, a new one (Blackberry, iPhone, Q, Sidekick, Blackjack, Vu, Dare, etc) is released trying to be more advanced than the one before it. Last week saw the release of the new iPhone for a very reasonable $200. I was thinking about it but it's still missing some of the core features I want. It still doesn't have video taking ability which numerous phones have now. I've also read that you can't copy and paste which I consider a basic tool for web browsing. The touch screen is nice in thought and useful for many but I have oily skin so I don't know if I'd constantly be wanting to touch the screen.

Looking at other phones, I became interested in the AT&T Tilt, released late last year. It has quite a few features including 3.0MP camera along with the ability to shoot video. It has Wi-fi and a big Qwerty keyboard. Overall, I'm impressed with what I've found out about it while looking online but I still have questions.

I'm curious if anyone has the Tilt or what smart phone you do have and what you think of it.

I have the iPod touch, and regardless of how oily your skin is, as long as you clean it every once in a while, the screen works great.

Dito that. Mine does phone calls and text.

Although i would like to have a camera phone at some point, you can take pictures all day at a concert with a camera phone, but heaven forbid you take a decent camera in a concert!

My camera is from the same family James. I have the Canon 720is with the 8mp and old school viewfinder to go with the 6x zoom. I wish shots between flashes were quicker. http://www.digitalcamera.vn/data/ima.../thumb_170.gif

I like to text but I like that my phone looks like a phone, not that it crossed over. That's why I have a computer. The only online material I would want on my phone is baseball scores and that's just during the summer. I have a dark blue slider Motorola Rizer. Great look but poor exterior button quality. I appreciate the 2.0 mp camera. I don't know why the Samsung phones still have 1.3. My phone is for very casual shots. I make sure to take my camera otherwise.

I like the fact I could mix a music player and phone together but I haven't listened to the tracks on my phone for about 2 months. I've still be able to avoid Ipod.

My friend got an AT&T wing phone if that's what it was called when the Iphone first came out. He switched it to a Samsung Blackjack recently.

It looks amazing. Have you compared the responsiveness of the touch screen to that of the iPhone? Because the touch screen phones I've played with from LG have touch screens that take a lot of pressure to do much with. Just wondering, because I'm trying to convince my dad to get one just so I can play with it lol.

I have never touched an iphone but i just slightly graze my finger across the screen to do anything. Not really any pressure at all. Its kinda like an ipod when your scrolling through songs.

My Motorola-Q makes it easier for me to send text messages with an actual keypad. I like that I can check my e-mail, check my airline flight status, and even use my MOTO-Q to actually check-in (paperless boarding pass) at the airport. I don't think I'm able to access Sprint TV on it though.

These phones really come in handy for even occasional travelers like me constantly on the go.

A year from now, I'm looking at upgrading my phone to a Samsung ACE or a Palm Centro.

I had an ipod touch and just upgraded to the iphone now that they're available in Canada and I think its a great device. The two issues brought up (video recording and copy/paste) really doesn't bother me...I've never been in a position that I thought that I was missing those features.

I just bought a new Palm Centro "smart" phone for Sprint. Comes with great features like Google Earth and Weather Channel.
Also Wes, I've had the same experiance at Verizon..House of Blues in Myrtle Beach recently started not allowing cameras, I could take one in before, but went to see Edwin McCain on the 3rd and I had to put my camera back in my car.

The Palm in those ATT commercials looked closest to what I have and may want in a phone - pop up slider or just with buttons on the exterior. I'm just not convinced I need to pay extra money to have internet other than text messages.

I'm waiting for technology like in Korea where it can be used to pay for items, Ez-pass like.
