Getting Lasik this wednesday (19)

Just so you all know, I am going to get laser eye surgery on wednesday so I can finally be rid of the pain that is glasses. It is almost a gaurenteed success, but I just wanted to let everyone know just in case something bad happens. I will be sure to give you an update after I am done.

Heh.

Did anyone else skim the title of this thread, think it said "Getting laid this Wednesday", then, remember that this is Thrillnetwork, say "naaaaaaaaaah" to yourself, and then recheck the thread title?

No one?

both good options, but for long term purposes the surgery is better.

You're not the only one, I started thinking "people are really stretching for topics now"

Good luck with the surgery and hope everything comes out fine!

Let us know if it's really worth all the trouble. I am a contacts wearer and have been for a long time. Glasses too. I like them...

I clearly read Lasik as a gf of mine got it done for her birthday last year. No more fake blue contacts for her. Back to her natural browns.

How much is it costing you? Does your insurance cover it? I'm considering getting it a few years down the road just because my eyes are getting a little worse, and I'd love not to have glasses anymore.

yeah, a good way to think of this is no more having to worry about perscription sunglasses/glasses while riding coasters!

The cost is 4,000 for both eyes, a followup appointment, and any other checkups or touchups for a full year after. My parents are both very happy with thier's, and I have heard only positives about it from others.

Psh I don't think so. I wear glasses and I don't mind it one bit.

For me it is money well spent. I hope to have it done by the end of next year. I'm still doing alot of reading up on it.

Don't see the big deal in wearing glasses. I've been wearing mine for 14 years and still don't even give it a second thought.

Same here for about 20 years but it would be nice for a change.

Good luck GaleRazorwind. Today's the big day. I hope everything comes out ok.

Cool. Please let us know how it works out for you...Lasik has always been intriguing to me, especially as of late considering how bad my eyes all of a sudden became.

Hope your treatment goes smoothly!

Hey, GRW- I hope everything goes smoothly. I also hope you get the improvement you're looking (no pun intended) for.

Good news, the operation was a success, my eyes are a little bit sore, but I can see at least as well as when I had glasses! THank you for all of your support, it really made it easier knowing that there were people who cared. I'm not allowed to look at my computer until tomorrow, so my (fabulous!!) mom is scribing this for me.

You would think picture taking wasn't allowed, either lol.
