This is in no way an a-hole post, I am actually really curious about these things, and would love for someone to answer them.

Can someone please explain to me, when it became cool for white teenagers to act,dress, and talk like a gangster. What exactly is the mindset here? Does this stem from childhood? Is it people who they grew up with? I can't imagine a scenario, where a white teenager, at the age of 14, who probably grew up with racist biggot parents, decides one day, "you now what? i'n gona start wearing headbands, talking "like dissssss" and wearing 38xxxxl shirts now. Yeah, that's gonna be me from now on."

I mean, do the parents ever just say, whoah, why is my kid talking like this?

Are wiggers aware that they are the butt of jokes, or are even aware of the term "wigger?"

What is the correlation to white kids in the lower income brackets acting this way? I have yet to see a kid with any money in the house behave as such.

If a white wigger kid sees a group of black teenagers 50 feet away, what is his mindset? Is it a situation of like, oh man, I hope they don't see me because they'll make fun of me for trying to act like them, or is it a situation of they actually THINK that they are part of the culture and are friendly and inviting to said group?

Furthermore, when did it become acceptable and cool to put those fart cans on a bone stock honda? Who was the first person to say, well, I've got a 89 accord here, pushing out 110 hp, what would make that sound mean? I understand that the fart sound is upposed to somehow replicate a V8 mean sounding muscle car engine, but the thing is, it's a Honda. No one expects your engine to sound like a V8.

I've got this guy that drives by my house everyday, (wigger of course), with this fart can on his 1994 Accord. He revs up his engine, and lets that baby sing. I mean, in his mind, is his sense of what's cool so convuluted that he honestly thinks the entire neighborhood wants to hear a fart noise going down the street? What does he expect us to do? Run out and stop him, and ay, MAN, that bone stock 4 banger sounds MEAN bro!

I mean, really the most baffling thing to me is, when I see a wigger at work, they avoid the black people all together, and hang out with other wiggers, and openly use the word "nig#a"....

I mean, as a black person, seeing this behavior, wouldn't I just walk over and beat the crap out of them?

Ugggggh...so many questions.

Anyhow, yeah, I haven't exactly figured that out either. Kids trick out their Civics to make them worth more (when in actuality they are worth less). I see the low-rider wheels, the spinners, the hydraulics, the frame rattling sub-woofers, the cherrybomb mufflers (I think you are referring to this) and I also think, "Seriously? Who the hell are you trying to impress?"

Did you mention the wearing of the pants below the ass, thus showing off the underwear? Don't you want to go up to them and yank the pants down?

The gangster scene is over...Rap is dead and wiggers died out a few years ago mainly.

Oh I go bananas when I see kids like that around town. My mother in law is a teacher in the high school here and boy do I see, the baggie pants and the trampy look all around school.

When I was in school (OMG I am sounding old) we had no kids like that. Even the "goth or emo kids as we call them now" didn't dress like that.

That style just screams idiot to me. Like, why dress like that?! If that kid came to me for a job I would look at them and go, "I would love to hire you, but the way you dress is inappropriate for my business". Maybe they would get the message.

And the language!!!! Jesus! I hear the N word around here like it's water or something. We live in a prominently white area and I swear the white kids act more inappropriate then any of the black kids.

We also live in a higher end neighbor hood and the kids drive those idiot tricked out orange mustangs, or low riding trucks or those crazy SUV's that are just waiting to cause an accident from an in-experienced driver!

If my son has droopy pants his ass goes and puts on a belt. PERIOD! You will not walk out of my house with jewelry all over your face, pants hanging off your ass and a cap turned sideways screaming, I LOOK STUPID!!

If you don't look decent coming out of my house, you aren't coming out.

The problem with your post, slipknot, is that you waste no time pulling out the "white" word when referring to the teenagers your having a problem with.

Then the word "wigger" starts flying left and right like its got no significant familiarization to the same type of word that starts with an "n". If its not cool for society to use the "n" word (which, in my opinion, its not no matter what race you are) then your "w" word should be no different.

People that act like gangsters are people that act like gangsters, plain and simple, they're not "white people acting like black people," that's where your use of the word "wigger" becomes ignorant. Don't know about you, but I've seen plenty of Hispanic people in gangs too, causing the same types of problems as the Black or White gangsters, who dress up the same as Black or White gangsters, but for some reason the word "whispanic" never came about (a white guy acting like a hispanic gangster). It kinda makes the assumption that only black people are gangsters, or that no other race has its own type of gangsters, when in reality, any race has its share of gangsters (maybe not ones that dress like it, but do it secretively, which in my opinion is almost scarier cause they don't stick out like sore thumbs).

The question should be "Why does ANYONE act like they're gangsters?" regardless of ethnicity, making it the same question, without using racial slurs. Because in all reality, I'll never understand why anyone would want to viewed as, or referenced to a menace of society.

The problem is that people tend to make an immediate assumption that how someone acts is because of their race (people who are certain races themselves also seem to assume that they need to act certain ways because of the color of their skin), when really we should be questioning the PERSON for their lack of morals and inability to "step outside the box," regardless of what race they are, without referring to their race:

"Why do you act that way?" not "You're (insert ethnicity here), why are you acting (insert ethnicity here)?"

In my opinion, to accept the fact that black people are gangsters, but to have some sort of burning urge to call out the white people who are gangsters, really makes no sense at all.

I would like to say this is a racist topic and it offends me greatly. In the spirit of the day can we not embrace the black gangsta lifestyle? Why do you folks try to bring them down? Did you not watch the events in DC today? This is what America wants, we want to be a bunch of thugs. It is time to put away all the hate and embrace ignorance and the gangsta lifestyle. I thought today that the racism was over but I come onto this site and alas I see a thread making fun of the black culture. Why is it wrong for white people to do it but OK for black people? Why do you see race in everything. I will leave you with this thought.

Since when have cartoon characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Mario, Homer Simpson, etc been associated with the "thug life."

It breaks my heart every time I see some teen wearing a shirt with Bugs Bunny on it wearing tons of gold rings, gold teeth, bandannas, etc. He's a classic cartoon character, not a mascot for pimps, for God's sake.

It's just a fad. The same way dressing grungy was a fad before the gangster stuff, and the same way dressing Goth was a fad before that, and dressing like a hippie was a fad before that. In reality, all of the cliques have always been there, but one or two of them are usually the popular ones at a time. The next fad is probably going to be guido, as it has already spread through Jersey.

I tried answering it simply, it's a fad, and people get very used to it.

Lets use Paris Hilton for example. She's a spoiled gross little (discretion........some more discretion). It's not that she is trying to be the way she is though, it's just that she was raised spoiled, and has no real grip on reality, and she's too old to "re-learn culture."

In the same way, many kids are brought up in atmospheres where acting like a thug is acceptable. Then it kindof spreads out slowly. So the people who didn't think certain behavior was acceptable realize that the next town over is okay with it. And then those parents let their kids do it. And so on.

I for one, don't think it's acceptable. We should behave like who we are, and I don't thin any of us here are thugs. If I want to cut myself and dress goth, or surf and wear birkenstocks and board shorts, that's one thing. But I'm not going to dress like I just popped a cap with my gat. Unless I just did

I dont have a problem with who people are, any race or culture doesnt bother me at all. What I have a problem is is that some people have a problem with themselves and who they are as an individual. If they didnt they would try to act like somone from another race or creed. This is not just for white people trying to be black this is for EVERYONE! I feel you should be proud of who you are. I am appalichian and I love my roots, I would love to live in a cabin and somtime I cook fry taters adn fry bread!!! To all those that can't figure it out, it was complete sarcasm. I am white and I think that the "wigger" lifestyle is stupid as do I think the black, thug, culture crap is stupid.

If you want to talk about racism listen to the benediction from today. I want someone to start a thread so we can talk about it there and the next 4 years.
