I Need Some Drum Major Help...

So I have this audition for my High Schools drum major coming up May 2nd. I feel that I'm fairly well prepared. I have commands ready, a Piece that's awesome, Patterns, and a solute. However, I have this interview at the end of the tryout. The interview is ALWAYS right after the piece, and I stand for it. My piece is honestly 160bpm the entire piece, so I'm wore out for my interview. Therefore I always end up sounding unprepared and unconfident, although I am neither. Are there any ways, tricks, or methods that I can use to have a better interview? How should I stand? What's the correct body language? How should I prepare for the interview? Basically, tell me how to do this interview please!
Thanks!
-Philip

Best advice I have is practice practice practice. You do NOT want to look worn out after a 160 bpm piece because... well ,you might have one of those in the program and be expected to continue after that.

As for the interview - be confident but not arrogant. Look like you are sure of yourself without being egotistical. It's a fine balance.

Best way to stand without looking completely exhausted is like a military stance.

Hold arms behind your back at the lower part of your back. Feet apart (shoulder length apart). Will make you look confident, but not too arrogant.

Good luck. We had a really good drum major in high school, but they never went through all the crap. Basically they were voted in with a small audition.

Or just stand like you would during a halt... that could work. (I could audition for drum major if I wanted, but I'm, staying Sousaphone. I can't leave them.)

Thanks! Is there any tricks on how to quickly recuperate from directing a uber fast piece before my Interview?

When you're done, hold out your drumsticks with your right hand, looking pissed off, then let them go so they drop in the ground (Kinda like in Drumline and that Drummer Boy on Robot Chicken). It makes everything cool.
