| TN Coaster Contest Standings
Week 1 went off without a hitch. The contest was simple and to the point--to build a corkscrew coaster with the highest excitement. This assignment left the doors wide open to imagination, and almost every contestent took advantage of that. TITANium Alloy shocked the competition with his 655.29 excitement corkscrew, leaving most, and even me, debating the credibility of that. However, he exploited an interesting idea--the more airtime a coaster has, the more enjoyable it will be. So, he created a coaster with over 60 seconds of airtime, and achieved a monstrous and legit excitement rating to take first place this week. SFGadvking came in second, using carefully placed scenery in exact places to achieve an excitement rating of 10.02. I recommend hiding the scenery and watching the train traverse the circuit first, then watch it with the scenery visible. It allows you to appreciate the time put into it just a little bit more. In third place came my favorite entry of the week--coasterkidmwm's PowderPuff Extreme. Themed after the hideous hazing incident in Chicago, coasterkidmwm created a beautiful ride with nice supports, and even a storyline as the ride progresses. This tops out our top3 for the first week. Congratulations to all the participants. Week 2 has come and gone, and the challenge was just a little bit harder. It still focused on excitement ratings, but had two catches: it had to be less than 2500' feet and the intensity had to be lower than 10. Everyone was able to meet those requirements, so no deductions had to be made. SFGadvking took this week's competition with his dueling woodies jam packed with scenery. Once again, you can notice the time it took to place the scenery. His lift hils were no straight, but bumpy, and he managed to get an 11+ rating on each coaster this week. TITANium Alloy came in second with his Metallica themed rides. He achieved mid 10 ratings on each coaster and is now tied with SFGadvking for the overall lead. Rounding out the top3 this week is coasterphil with his Glenbrook Schools Rivalry coasters. Each one is themed to the GBN and GBS schools in Chicago. He managed to keep an actual theme to his ride while getting high 9 ratings on his coasters. Congratulations to all the participants and good luck next week. Week 3 came and left a while ago. And I finally have the results. This week, the top belongs to a new face. Coasterkidmwm managed 28 mph on his coaster, and takes the top podium this week. Coming in second is SFGadvking with his 26mph avg. speed. Rounding out this weeks top 3 is BimmerZ3 with his 24mph. avg. invert. This weeks challenge was probably the hardest for the contest, and the most disliked for sure. There were a lot of restrictions, but being able to manipulate under those conditions helps make the contestants better. Congrats to all of the participants this week. Also, papercut's entry did not work for me, since it was sent as a 'Shortcut' to the file on his computer. I was also missing a coaster from TITANium Alloy. But, no need to worry, a challenge further ahead will allow you two to make this up if you choose. I got an avg. speed of 25. post: http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/...&pagenumber=13 coaster: http://www.thrillnetwork.com/speedzone/view.php?file=98 Just lettin' you know I did turn it in.

I have a problem. I arrived home on tuesday at around 6 PM and had zero time to work on this week because of a vacation. Should i just send in a entry late or should I not bother and have you do what you did valp?

I didn't send one in that week... and because I'm extremely busy (3 RCT2 projects plus football two-a-days), I probably won't be entering any... But congrats to SFGAdvKing for currently holding the lead!

Ok, I fixed everythng, hopefully. As for late entries, they arent accepted, but believe me there will be a makeup challenge so dont feel like missing a week will hurt you. Also, I cant stress enough how important it is for me to get them in email to ahodgson@thrillnetwork.com and with your TN screenname in the park file name. Mainly because when you post to the speedzone and its only one person doing the judging, its hard to tell which is for the contest and which is something someone just uploaded for fun. Thanks.

Week 4's results are in, and here is how the field held up. TITANium Alloy took the top spot this week with his coaster that gained a score of 56.17. He took advantage of a trick using an impulse coaster, and got a 653.42 excitement rating. SFGadvKing, who came in second with a score of 54.86, had a higher excitement rating, at 655.02, but his nausea was .4 higher which caused the slight difference in scores. Finishing out the top 3 this week is papercut with his score of 1.25. This is papercut's first time placing in this contest. The entries were slow this week, and I only received 5 entries. Lets hope the activity picks up next week, or some people will begin dropping off the top quickly. Congrats again to all participants this week. Favorite Coaster of the week--Aniconda by ride6.
