Rct3 Peice Of *****???

I havnt perchased the game yet but ive been reading about so many difernt bugs and problems with the game. I made a list of all of them ive herd about. Peeps with 100% toilet meter pass by toilets without using them

* Peeps with 100% hunger meter pass by food stalls without purchasing food. They do this even if the food is FREE
* Peeps with 100% thirst meter pass by drink stalls without purchasing drinks. They do this even if the drinks are FREE
* Coasters jump from very low ratings to extremely high ratings with no player intervention (have seen it go from 17 MPH max speed to 2000+ MPH max speed without changing a thing)
* Can not see what all peeps are thinking (aggregate list). The Opinions window, as mentioned in the manual, does not open by clicking the Park Rating bar.
* Guests complain about queue times under 5 minutes
* Employees do not stay on assigned paths
* As you are setting a path assignment, you can not tell what paths are already assigned to another employee.
* Autocomplete track does not tell you how much it costs to autocomplete.
* Queue pathing is a bit screwy if your paths not perfectly level/perfectly sloped, Peeps get halfway down queue and turn around - even though the sign appears at the end of the queue.
* Mechanics do not adhere to their Inspect/Fix filters. It always goes back to both.
* Becuase of pics like these http://media.pc.ign.com/media/664/66...g_2435874.html and my favorite (for its floating trees in the backround) http://media.pc.ign.com/media/664/66...g_2435854.html
* Employee wages go up a few dollars automatically every month (inflation by design?)
* Most of the coasters imported from RCT2 dont even work!
* IN SOME CASES THE GAME WONT EVEN WORK
* The launches in the acaull game only go up to.........26 mph!
* Its almost imposible to atract guests
* To get a coaster thats not regectedby the people it has to be crazy and unrelistic
* its hard to make a coaster relistic
* The guests are easily confused
* AlOT of people are saying its not as much fun as RCT1 and 2

Theres some more i missed but my hands are getting tired, maybe ill type the rest later.

Sounds just like the previous games. Hmm.

Can anyone confirm all this? You might want to try out the game before typing all that stuff. It could be true, though. RCT1 and 2 did it!

Also ive been hearing things about atari relesing a patch. Whats a patch? (sorry i probobly sould know it because everyone talks about it alot) and how would you get it. Is it like a new improved game is it like a disk that you get from were you baught it from? Do you downlaod it from ataris site?

A patch is the name of a piece of code that makes adjustments to an exisiting program; often by replacing files.

Pacthes can be used by developers to improve a game with new features, or more often, fix problems with the release (by replacing the faulty files).

The files fixed will be the installed ones on your HD. The patch will be free, and almost certainly be on ataris website. there will be plenty of disccusion on the official boards about it from people. Mirrors- other places to download the patch - will appear in hours on the internet.

You wil probably only be able to get it from the internet. Publishers don't send out disks anymore its old fashioned and very expensive. Many programs are patched now its very common. the 56kers are already complaining - if your one, your not alone.

It'd be nice to say the patch will be small, often they are, but not always. Some games have had 300mb patches. Now rct3 won't be like that, but a 20-40mb patch isn't unknown. hopefully it'll be less. We'll find out tomorrow!

The patch will be a .exe file - just double click and it will install automatically, just like the full game did. And thats it. Possibly you might have to restart the computer - but probably not.

It'll say something like "patch installion is complete". Thats it. the game will be patched and hopefully some probs fixed. don't expect 100% of the probs to be fixed. that'd be nice but its not realistic.

Any questions?

forgot to add : close the game down before running any patch! probably it will refuse to install with the game runing anyway but just close it down to be sure. then when the patch is installed re-boot the game.

The demo wasn't as fun I thought. I'll just stay with RCT2.

found this on the official site its a cleaer explanation

How to Reset your Settings
If the game won't run because you selected the wrong resolution... navigate to

C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USERNAME]\Application Data\Atari\RCT3

And delete "Options.txt".

i have rct3 and it is not as good as 1 or 2.. if you dont have it yet and want it.. dont get it..unless you really want it.. it really isnt that good. everything is very boxy its hard to make coasters... when makeing waterrides..they dont slow down when the hit the water... so if the boat hits the water at 40mph it will still go for a long time before it slows....
on freefall towers.. you cant have slow up.. you can have it stop at the top.. but it still launchs the car..

Umm.. staff can get pissed off at you and quit..

and if you make a lot of stuff in one spot the game lags a lot..

Why can't they just make a game that actually works in the first place? This is why I laugh at people who say computer games are better than console games. With consoles, you never have to worry about any of this crap unless that particular copy was defective. I get tired of hearing about patches to "fix" the game that should've been fine in the first place. It's a shame because I was looking forward to getting this game. Now, I'll probably wait until I see more reviews. I had a feeling this game looked too good to be true.

GOT MORE.....

This was taken from another forum

* Game wouldn't exit gracefully. I mean, I had to hit the reset, it was that serious.
* Can't select text in any text box.
* An information booth can break down?
* Path alignment isn't right. I had a complete queue, with the sign appearing at the end, but peeps got three squares in and turned around until I rebuilt the entire thing. Plus the exit didn't vertically align right yet people could get out.
* I noticed in one control window some of the UI overlapped.
* You can't do separate load and unload stations as you could in the previous games.
* You can't see other workers' zones when you're assigning them.
* Workers don't stay in their zones anyway.
* Staff window doesn't remember the filters you had last time you looked at it. Should've been able to select staff by type, as in the old game.
* It's impossible to make a profit on some rides because no one will ride them unless you undersell them.
* Night mode never fully happens in the first scenario. Not sure if that's on purpose.
* Can't charge for photos.
* Reverse inclined launch on a corkscrew coaster? That's right, it launches the train in reverse up your reverse lift. Stupid.
* The peep UI for navigating the park sucks. They won't go to rides unless the queue is on a main path. Don't believe me? Extend the queue to the main path on the first scenario for the top spin. All of a sudden, peeps ride it like crazy.
* Raise an inverter station off the ground and it has no floor.
* Floorless has weird artificial limit of five cars.
* Block brakes stop trains, which isn't real life.
* I'm suspicious that frame rates suck on an Athlon 3200+ with a 6800GT video card. If someone figures out they crippled it for non-ATI cards I'm going to be super pissed.
* Did I mention I can't exit the game without rebooting?
* Spinning mouse spin toggles are hopelessly worthless because the car doesn't reset to locked in the station. Even if you have two toggles on the track somewhere, depending on where your blocks are, half will start locked, half won't.
* Surprisingly, the block brakes do work correctly on the spinning mouse.
* Peeps do cute things but are stupid. Build the exact same ride twice in your park in different places and explain why no one will ride one but the other will get mad traffic.
* A 300-foot roto-drop has excitement under 1.00?
* There's no vertical sync for the 3-D rendering, which results in some wicked tearing when you go into coaster cam mode on most anything (especially on anything that has horizontal rotation, like a spinning mouse or observation tower).

You obviously can't think for yourself. Buy the game, play it for yourself, make your own decisions. And with that, I'm closing this.
