Cool The World's greatest city gets an AW park

I decided to Change my Mind on which park i'm releasing next. (i can do that.)

This park idea actually came to me in a dream a few nights ago.
Awesome World Los Angeles!

It is built not like any other theme park. it's lands will be like complete worlds connected by interstate-like walkways. some of these lands are actually devided into sub lands.

so far i have Mario World, Los Angeles (featuring the inevitable LA Drivin' Bumper cars), Mystery town feat. CSI the Ride and Sherlock holmes mystery adventure. there is also A ride themed on The day after tomorrow.

Screenshots will be posted soon.

btw: The link in the word Los Angeles is what I will probably use to buy my first house, what a coincidence.

Hey, maybe you can recreate that super tiny amusement park that was in Mario Pinball. I somewhat recreated the coaster in NL as best I could, and you can see some screenshots if you like.

I live in Ny i don't like it. it's a matter of opinion. i just assume the best city has the most in it.
-SFMM
-Disneyland
-Knott's
-Nice beachs
-Warm Weather
-Palm Trees (my favorite Tree)
-Hot Girls
-Big city
-Skiing just 15 minutes from Tropical Surfing

for me Ny is too cold and i can't stand that (especially early in the morning waiting for my idiot bus driver!), nor can i stand the fact that there are no metropolitan themeparks. SFGADV is 2 hours away! Coney island is not what it once was, and the beach's are dirty and waveless. (NY does not have much of a coastline).

you could argue anything for other cities. it's all a matter of taste and what city has the most things you like.

anyway back to the park:
I am on my way to RCT to take my screens.
So far in Mario world I have Bowserland, Luigi's Mansion Haunted house (complete with Floating Boo ghosts!) Peach's Castle, and Mario Sunshine Water coaster (of Course.).

I am also planning a Sonic land on the other side. kinda funny contrast.
this will contain knuckle's Flying Coaster, and Sonic and knuckles duel Launch coasters (kind of like the chiller).

There is the Waterpark our trademark Splash kingdom is comming (though smaller then the one in Pa)

More to come soon i'll post screens in a bit.

(oh and Btw all cities have muggins and murders. Ny is being cleaned up, as is LA. The city that is really like that is East St. Louis, illinois. what's a muggin anyway?)

Apparently yes. Cough.

I love New York City, but that's probably because I've lived here my whole life. I have no problem with Los Angeles being the location of the park. Sounds like another nice Awsome Worlds park.

I promised the shots and here they are.

first: The yet unnamed rollercoaster. This Coaster Will Be Themed in the Wild West Coast section themed on California's Mining and Boomtowns of the 1800s.

Second: is the main enterance, themed with all related characters of course.

Third: Luigi's Mansion the ride. this is part of the part that came from a dream i had of a park with floating ghosts around a luigi's mansion themed thing. no they do not actaully float, they are advanced holoprojections that are appearing due to an advanced trick similar to that used in the tower of terror with the addition of a few large hidden projectors.

Ps. in the second one, you can see all the unhappy people that are sad because their favorite park is not open until march.

never heard of st. paul (jk), Minneapolis is an ice box with little there imo, chicago is ok but not much unique there imo. like i said for me to consider a city the best it must be warmer than 20 degrees in the depths of winter and have a large amount of things to do and it neads to have a coastline.
(however Phoenix is still awesome!)

interesting that the title created an equivalent "sub plot" in the thread!
cool.

Anyway, back to the park, in my favorite city:
The Intamin is my signiture Thrashmaster ride. it's not in anyway a clone of the one in penn, but is still a nice intamin hyper. right now i am building the fantasy villa section of the park.

Right now I have both RCT and this open so stay tuned for more updates!

Update! The new Screens have arrived!

The first is a shot of the camp across the street. (yes that is an element shop in front of it. thought i'd throw in a taste of california's culture.)

The next is what is to be the Day After Tomorrow ride. This is the New York Flood part.

We also now have a staduim and feature shows by big name bands and comedians such as Dane Cook, Aerosmith, Green Day, Carlos Mencia and others.

(We were going to have the president make an opening day speech like they did for the SFtenn, but considering our usually rowdy liberal crowds we decided that AWLA was not the place to do this!)

Like Thrilladelphia, AWLA will have a dancehall where you can throw parties and pay no admission charge (even though the charge of throwing and booking a party alone would rank up more expense then actually buying an admission ticket!)

More updates and info soon!

The greatest city isnt St. Paul, NY, or LA, try to think of communities where all groups of all ages of people can get along fine without any the violence or vandalism, but such a place does not exist because human nature makes us screw up and do dumb things, so the city with the least crime and violence and in a war-free country, so no fighting to the death is invloved and peace is what everyone shares, that would be the best city.

Well What i meant was the best city in my opinion is the one with the most to do. there could be a city in which you described, but only containing one little lame farmhouse and nothing else. that's great but how do you live like that. i'd go insane! that is also unlikely. now granted if LA was like that all for the better, but my great favorite city will just have to settle with having the most to do. meanwhile the NY Suberbs are riddled with vandalism and crime. Just last week there were two bomb threats in a row the last two days in the middle school here. we get stories of sex offenders and people in cars offering candy or helping them get somthing out of the trunk (usually ropes and ducttape.)
Cities get a bad rap because there are more people hance more crimes.
(on the other hand it's stories like this that will make leaving NY so much sweeter!)

Anyway feel free to comment on my screen shots. i'm also open to suggestions

(oh and Tanks4me05: where are those screenshots? i'd like to see them!)

As For the park itself:

-We Are currently Featuring a Display of Nascar Cars. A Few Cars Will Be Parked in the lot near the tram spot. be sure to look for them!

-Our mountain Resort Hotel (surprisingly next to a mountain!) will be opening in 2007

-We Also now have A lazer Lights Show: Hollywood lights! featuring shows (similar To those Hershey had two years ago) set to a wide range music.

-The First 3 Season passes sold are Free! (only to Residents in the United States, UK, or Canada. Not including Residents of Arkansas or North Alabama for no particular reason.) And free all year to all those displaced by Hurricane Katrina, and Relatives of Soldiers lost at war. Also All returning Soldiers get in for free the entire year after they return.*

-Year Round Dance Hall**

-Waterpark is Free. Though it has a seperate enterance from the rest of the park, there is a free ferry between the two parks.

-Our Theme song Equivalent to Six flags's Vengabus, is The Song "California Sun" sung by the Ramones.

*These offers are not available for Aw's Astroland (santa monica, Ca), California Coaster Town (Santa Clara, Ca) or any other AW locations except AW NY (Suffern, NY), Thrilladelphia (Valley Forge, Pa), and AW's Windy City (North Chicago, illinois) (they would be available in Aw New Orleans (New Orleans, La) but that would send the katrina offer into an endless loop of pointlessness)
**not open this year during July 30th-August 6th for renovations

Edmonton, Alberta

Not just a little farm house, it has near one million people (Canada has a population of about 30 million, because there are a lot of sissies that cant handle the weather, but the weather is AWESOME)

Worlds largest mall, with over 3 theatres (one of which is Imax!!!) that have over 15 theatre rooms. The worlds largest, fastest, tallest, greatest indoor coaster, and its made by Schwarzkopf to!!! Best coaster in Canada, and best Schwarzkopf, since they didnt butcher this one.

Worlds largest indoor water park, called world water park, with lots of crazy water slides, I have been to Wet and Wild, and World Water park was 10 tiems better in every which way.

Lazer shows, fire work shows, studios for musicians and actors, hundreds of fine restraunts, Wayne Gretzky's hockey team (the oilers suck now... when compared to the flames)
Bourbon Street (I had Tony Roma's Ribs for the first time there!) Suburbs that are perfect because of the low-er crime rate and the whole town is mosquito free!!! They sprray the town so mosquitos and bugs like that cant survive their. Over 13 golf courses, out door water parks (underground water slides anyone?), Kinsmen centre, which has an Olympic sized pool and Olmpic sized diving boards and anything else you could possibly find at a fitness centre, top of the line hotels, lots of bike trails (for dirt bikes and bicycles) The people are mostly all Canadian so everybody is extra friendly!! Canadian beer in all the restraunts (beats any other beer, and russian beer is in second, according to all beer drinkers, since im only 15, I wouldnt know...) Pretty much all sports you can think of have a stadium or field directly for its purpose, beer breweries, West Edmonton Mall (again...) Dolphin and seal shows, submarines, mini-golf, a driving range, over 150 stores (well over, I dont know the right number) and several warehouses, bingo, and 3 food courts with over 25 restraunts in each one!!! Anything you can do, you can probably do it at Edmonton, and if you cant, its probably not worth doing.

I live down the road from Edmonton in Fort McMurray, home to the worlds 2nd largest oil deposit and we have 3 major oil plants out on the oil sands and that means jobs jobs jobs!!! since pretty much every shop and plant is looking for work, there is barely any unemployment, and the average salary is $91 000 a year!!! I love Canada, for its beautiful landscape, %7 government tax ( %5 soon with Harpers promise) and I love the people, no nicer place then Canada!!!

Heh...You obviously haven't been there in the last 10 years have you. They have cleaned that place up so well. It is my favorite vacation place and it's a great place to visit in the summer. I didn't see any crime when I went and I even walked around at night time. IMO, it IS the best city ever by al ong shot. LA, has alot of crime. Not being racist, but they have so many hispanics and blacks in the eastern part of the city which is where most of the crime occurs.

What can you do in NY that you cant do in Edmonton? And what about cities like Stockholm, London, Paris, Torino, and Mexico City?

You can only say if a city is the greatest city in the world if you have been to all the top contestants, so I guess me choosing Edmonton when I have not even been out of North America is excluding Asian, European, South American, and Australian cities.

( I highly doubt the Antarctic is all that fun, cept for the penquins!)

ahh Edmonton. If it was in the LA area it would rock so much! easily my favorite place in canada, the only downside is the sub-zero temperatures. (though I hear somewhere in Canada There is actually a desert, near the southwest, though it may be a cold one)

Yeah I just recently saw the Day After Tomorrow, It was so cool i thought it would make a great ride. there is also a New York Frozen area, and an LA tornado area, complete with Hollywood Sign!

Now I also have a rollercoaster losely based on the Scream Machine, Ninja, and Viper rolled into one: the All American Gravity Ride.

though what can you do in NY that you can't do in LA? I know there is a cyclone in SFMM. yes there are broadway shows in LA too. and what can you do in LA you can't do in NY! there ain't no Disneyland in NY! NY's Beach's are horrendous (don't even get me started on the south jersey shore!) as for the other cities;

Tokyo is awesome, Great Disney park, and it is a taste of difference. so not like the US
London is cool, then again I like england. it's nice there. but still cold!

Torino I never heard of until the olympics!

everyone hates paris, but it's a nice architectural city.

Mexico rocks! I don't know why they want to cross the boarder so bad (especially to wind up in El Paso! eww! jk)

Austraillia is awesome it's like all of California afloat.

and sweeden is cool for being, well sweedish it's just generally cool.

No city can be called the greatest city, who is to judge, each city has pros and cons, but there probably isnt a greates, but in Edmonton you can get INDOOR FIREWORKS at the water park, they turn off all the lights and the reflection against the huge wave pool looks cool.

EDIT: ^ What do you mean everyone hates Paris!?!?!? I dont hate Paris.

^i hate paris =D lol jk, never been. But I have been to both LA and NYC, and although both offer many of the same things, and both have there strong points, theres something about NY that sets it apart. (all of this is IMO of course...) I love to just walk around on the streets and look at everything. It literally is the city that never sleeps, theres so much energy. And it still amazes me how theres sooo many people in one small area, and for the most part they get along very well! the subways can be packed to the brink and no one pushes, (for the most part) people give up seats to people that need them more, people move around so everyone can get in. etc etc. I could go on for ever about it. it really is all the little things, not the big ones, that really set NYC apart (im mainly talking about manhattan when i say NYC, i really havent been to the other areas enough to talk about them...)

I don't know. Maybe people consider NYC to be the world's greatest city because of its landmarks. There's the Empire State Building, former World Trade Center 1 & 2 buildings, the Chrysler Building, the United Nations Headquarters, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Grand Central, Central Park, MSG, and Yankee Stadium. Just to throw a few at you Jordan.

The UN Headquarters, I'd say thats the biggest thing that stands out, you would think there would be one in every Continent... The Statue of Liberty is beautiful, France's last gift to an American. Yankee Stadium.... thats not really a land mark, its not even that much to be proud about. Empire State Building, only cool becuase of the 1930's movie King Kong if you ask me! I loved that giant monkey.

I mean people in America are all like the french are trators let's not eat french fries (which are not really french at all). they don't have to agree with us you know. I live in NY. It just does not seem like the place for me. I need Warm Weather, and Constant themeparks. No off Season. I have not been to a disney park in like 7 years now, and it seems like almost a mythical memory. The weather here has been nothing but rain and snow for the past month, and frankly i'm getting a little annoyed about not seeing palm trees. I have to go to Jersey to do anything. In LA, to me atleast, it is like a valley of fun. Everything in the metro area has something to do. go 5 miles out of manhatten and your in Wasteland. Nothing but Jersey factories, and Small boring hicktowns. the hudson river's so polluted i'm surpriesed it's still made of water. There is a nuclear powerplant (near my town) which was put against the will of locals and if exploaded could wipe out all of Southern NY. Coney island is also not what it once was.

However, the city that i think is the worst ever is......
Drum Roll
Helena, Montana.

It is so dead there, there is nothing at all to do. I look at the satallight image on local.live.com the closest themepark is over 4 hours away!
it's so cold, and dull, the though of living there (by job transfer, or something, never by choice) actually scares the crap out of me.

That's just my opinion

anyway, i don't mind if you continue the debate, but i'd kind of like you to also comment on the screens! don't lose sight of what this thread is for.

You dont need to live near a theme park to have something to do, and you can have all year coasters in Canada, Mindbender is open everyday, at it is my favorite coaster, its awesome, totally beats bush gardens coasters, IOA coasters, and Disney World coasters. Plus the whole 44,444 yards of the park are all well themed with space stuff, its AWESOME. Not only is there the Mindbender, but the Space Shot (tallest indoor free fall, over 130 feet), and what used to be a inverter ship now has free swinging inverted like seats and a couple stand ups that you can "fly" in. If you are ever in Alberta, go to West Edmonton Mall, it will be worth it.

don't worry, i will

Anyway w/o a themepark, Surfing, Seeing the sights, and Living it up in an exciting city, what's left? I live in a small town. I hate it. I actually have days where I never leave the house, I never even get dressed. Right now the snow caused me to have to give up plans for going out. A Dead bird got stuck in our heater once and the whole house dropped to 10 degrees.

the roof leaks, and the Cars won't start. but oh well.
(btw i know those are the lyrics to a song but i can't place it)

Anyway that's just my veiw.

I like canada though. I'm Going to canada this summer actually. Going to be Stopping in great Escape and Darian lake. possiably Canada's Wonderland.

Enough about cities. Let's Get back to the park. i'll Post More Screens Within 2 hours
