Smile RCT2: New World's Thrill Park

New World's presents a park in progress - Thrill Park. Currently there are three coasters, Bat Outta Hell, Journey, and Catepillar Coaster. And you may be able to spot what is coming next...hint hint.

I think it's starting out good, The hyper looks great. I like the blue one (Journey i think) but it looks like a very short ride.

Hey you stole bat out of hell from me! jk

Nice park, however you may want to add a bit more theming.
Also Journey looks a bit goofy.

The hyper looks cool, kind of like Georgia's goliath sticking out of the park. I like the diagnol lift, hardly anybody knows the value of this placement.
"Caterpiller" is also really cool looking. it's rare to find a good kiddie coaster these days.
Also, interesting spin on the classic shuttle looper. can't wait to see the wooden coaster.

Update on the Woodie

Well, the woodie is almost done. I've got some construction pics. I put my own supports, and I made Back Again a station. The new coaster's name is The Devil's Advocate. After I rinish the coaster, I'm going to take a building break, and theme the park.

the BA station is definately too blocky, even for a station..

you should create differing levels and use different textures. Abstract shapes with more corners and inside corners are preferable. It makes your park look that much more realistic.

I agree with dukeandPCfan. The station is an eyesore; add some life to it. It looks dull, the roof doesnt match, and is just boring. Work on the architecture skills.

The wooden supports also look weird to me. I don't know why, but they just dont look right.

New Theme for Journey

Well, I put Journey over water and put fountains around it. It looks pretty cool. I still need to make a waterfall. I decided not to make a fancy station for Back Again, I just put hedgings around it's queue line.

Journey looks much better. I like it a lot. Water falls are an object in the water themeing section. If you can't find it, then it might not be available to you at all for your park. You may have forgotten to select it in the scenario editor, unless you have object waiting to be "invented". Not sure what you may have on your hands. It could be many things, but if it's not there then you may need to find an alternative.

^IMO, RCT3 is slow, and it slows my computer, it's a huge file. Even though it does have a few good features.
Anyhow, new coaster! New section coming soon!

The biggest problem I see with your park is that you jumped right into ride building instead of actual park planning or theming and architecture.

Instead of just making a scenario and going right into ride building stay in the scenario editor and work on the park landscaping and build some buildings. Plan out where everything is going to be and then go into the actual game and start building the rides and stalls.
If you look at my resort, The Maui Club, I built the whole hotel and water park(without the slides) in the scenario editor, I just marked where I wanted to put the slides. If you dont like how it turns out in the editor you can always change it later. My hotel went through two huge face lifts before release.

Your park just looks thrown together which causes it to look very unappealing.

EDIT- You also need to really work on your landscaping skills. You're park is way too flat. Add some hills, ponds, rivers, anything; parks aren't flat.

I completely agree with WildeFyre. The park is okay, but it looks like you're just making it up as you go along.

^ Even though that may be true, he can still create a nice park by just coming up with things as he goes. I see what you mean about planning out a park, but there are just so many options to go with, that it is usually easier and more fun to make it up as you go.

NW:TP would like to announce the newest section to it's park: the FroZone! Currently, the only way there is by monorail. But after expansion and building and landscaping. The section may only be temporary, because it doens't exactly fit in, tell me what you guys think, and whether or not I should keep it. It has 5 (6?) rides in it, and the monorail has 4 trains, it is called the Polar Express. I'll be changing the stations, I just remembered to do that now.

No offense, but that area looks completely out of place. That kind of ara needs to be secluded by trees so you can't really see other areas of the park from it and vice versa. The ice clashes completely with the grass.

Wow... it looks cramped.

EDIT: I saw your other screenshots, and no offense, the coasters look fun, but this seems like something I would make when I first got RCT2: A lot of good coasters but COMPLETELY bare, almost no attempt at theming, and very cramped.

i have a good idea for that zone

make it a high valley (relative to the general ground) and surround it with high mountains.. make the area a rolling hill section with little pockets of ice lakes secluded by high walls of mountain surrounding, and with trees. You can build a tunnel later through and for now have an awesome monorail that climbs up and down the mountain

otherwise it looks completely out of place.. like the name though

^ I absolutely agree... so far this park is looking like the ones i used to make with RCT1 (no expansion.. back in like 6th grade)..
hopefully you'll do this soon, but it would be nice to see buildings, queue houses, stations, and theming. Right now its looking pretty rct-squareish. Like the coasters though

I redid FroZone. It is now the opposite of cold and IMO looks much much better. Back Again got a new station, CC got a new paint job, and Journey got a line cover. I took your advice with the enclosing via trees, WildFyre. The new area is called La Zona Tropical.

im liking the small improvements

the tropical zone looks better.. but you still need theming - cabanas, etc.. would be nice.

the station was needed.. but its very boxy... add different elements to make it unique and look good.. walls that jut out, balconies, and different roofing sections help make station appeal better. the queue cover looks fine.. as long as all the rides in the park aren't the exact same.. nice to see you improving areas that need it..

much much better..

keep up the good work.. hopefully you'll add more buildings like this to the other areas of the park

the tropical area looks good.. it just needs some buildings and things to cover those shops.. a good idea would be to make a boardwalk type thing with the big square wooden platforms, and then you could cover it to cover the shops in... just an idea though
