Sea Runner - the bay area's newest park

Well considering I didn't have any scenery packs and a very limited coaster collection, I built a more original RCT 2 park using one of its unlimited money scenarios. I'll be uploading pics of the areas as I transfer them from my other computer, the park is almost finished.

I'll be uploading some pictures every few days to a week, each showcasing a new area as you tour the park.

The park is finished, but I know how people are when they have to look through 40 or 50 screens, so chopping them into little pieces and groups should help get over that.

Here's an overview to preview on what's coming

Southpoint. Searunner
This is the place you enter unto. A bluff at the edge of a causeway beckons you to the island. Immediately you see the brand new Standup coaster that has replaced the long-gone Premier launched coaster, named Deco Two, after its predecessor.

The entry building is a large warehouse whose architecture dates to the 20s, and hence the name, is inspired by Art Deco Florida of the 1920s.

The info center reads out pending information as the you can catch a street trolley, or the skyway expressway to the other side of the park. The observatory rises above ground from its subterranean beginnings.

The entry area beckons people up a short climb to the precipice of the bluff, where views of the ocean and park abound. You can also see the loop and immelman dive for the standup coaster.

Here you get a sneak peek at Orange Kingdom as we look back at Southpoint Sea Runner.

lol i did use the awful copied SLC.

let me reiterate the idea behind this park - i built it for fun

i used a premade scenario, with VERY LIMITED coasters. it is a HUGE map, so i filled it with a lot of coasters, yes, but i also have alot of flat rides, landscaping, etc...

so keep in mind that this isn't my best theming, b/c im not using any scenery packs, trainers, etc... its just straight up rct... im sure it will be alot more enjoyable if people have that in mind when looking at the park.. new screens up tommorow.

i had to do alot of improvising. the wooden coasters are all backwards-only. so i had to build coasters that people would ride backwards, but still looked like they could run forwards. i had to build a hyper out of a looping coaster. i had to redesign whole parts of the park to make a san francisco-like streetcar system, up the main street area (showcased later).

and yes it's the california bay area. the scenario's original name is alcatraz, i renamed it Sea Runner and pretended it was a different off shore island.

I actually have been doing this lately...I've completed two scenaries with no trainers or custom scenery and it was fun.

Good work!

ok- update 2.0

Ni Ha! Welcome to Orange Kingdom!

As homage to SFO's Chinese immigrants, Orange Kingdom celebrates oriental culture in design and rides.

First - Bengali, the B&M Flying Coaster. Only about 60 feet tall, the space drop and overbank give thrill but after a zero g roll, it plunges down into several dips, banks, and a thrilling pretzel roll off the side of the cliff.

There's also a themed double decker carousel, and connections to both Main Street Plaza and Suburbia/Midway Americana. Here is the tramway between Southpoint, Orange Kingdom, and Main Street Plaza.

Finally, here is Suburbia/Midway Americana. The light rail station transports the city tram into a true suburban railway. A wide midway with several food options and a small wooden side-friction coaster named Albany Rhode offers great sea views and a relaxed atmosphere.

update 3.0....

Well you've seen Southpoint, the entry area, and Orange Kingdom and Suburbia which are the paths to the left of the entry area. So its only logical to follow with the path to the right, which will include Maple Street Plaza, including the tram station, "Maverick," the multilooper, and Neptune's Wrath, a GCI inspired terrain woodie.

maple street plaza was originally created simply as a train station with a large plaza for shops and restaurants. Since then, its become one of the biggest thrill centers in the park.

Maple Street Station along with Neptune's Wrath

Neptune's Wrath, terrain wooden coaster.

Neptune's Wrath, Maverick post-MCBR and the Plaza

the Plaza, the "Lodge", the fountains, and the double loop of Maverick...

Maverick

Maverick/Neptune's Wrath

Finally, here's a glimpse at the long avenue to Soak City, the free waterpark with admission. It's part of the latest expansion, and was added after the park's 11th year.

Soak City will be in a later installment.
Next Update - about a week away, depending on the activity of the thread and my homework. Hope you enjoy, and next up will be the Boardwalk including a woodie and the hyper coaster.

Aside from that incredibly wonky beginning section, neptune's wrath looks quite nice.

finally, an update!

It's been a really long time, but here's an update.. finally...

THE BOARDWALK
including Kraken Cay.

I'll remind you first of what we covered so far:
Here is a rough sketch of the areas we've done so far, to give you an idea where the boardwalk is placed in the park. You can also refer to the overview shot i gave you at the beginning.

Now for the Boardwalk:

You descend the boardwalk from the Midway Americana. The food court at Suburbia overlooks the sand-strewn boardwalk beach, as a gradual, wide tarmac descends through the Boardwalk Diver's structure. If you are unable to make the ascent or descent, or prefer a slower, more scenic view, the boardwalk tram service takes people on an elevated track through the boardwalk diver to the very heart of the boardwalk.

The Boardwalk Diver wooden coaster stands a mere 60 feet in height, but packs a 70 foot drop, as well as many helixes, short airtime hills, and powerful turns. It's a mix of an out and back and a figure eight coaster.

KRAKEN CAY.

Off Boardwalk, a small manmade island is connected by a pier/bridge and is called Kraken Cay. This wonderful addition includes a large Nathan's Famous including bathroom facilities, and one of the park's many first aid centers. Kraken, a Morgan-Arrow hyper coaster, towers high above the park, at 205 feet. Traversing the island in a series of high powered overbanks and a ton of airtime, the coaster is by far the most intense in the park.

Kraken's lift hill as well as double dip (far left), last helix, and powerful into-brakes ejector airtime hill.

The first drop pummels down the side of the cliff before lifting into an incredible turnaround more then 150 feet above the ocean. a fast paced 360 degree spiral and and snaking airtime follow. Then there is a quick overbank...

A close up including part of the Soak City entrance.

next up... soak city!
