RCT2 Hill Builder Option

I copied this exactly from

land, making mountains - COASTER-net.com Forums

Quote:
I just got RCT2 and was going to make some hills. In Rct1, under the land box you get, you start with one sqaure, and can move up to more and more squares to raise or lower the land.

If you go negative from the one sqaure, it gave you what I called, a hill builder option. Instead of a pure square of pure up and down, you were able to raise a non-square hill up and down.

Anyhow, in RCT2, this option seems to be missing. Did they put it someplace else, or did they just do away with it?
He worded it perfectly and I've always wondered if there was a solution ever since I got RCT2. Does anyone know a way to get that option back? It won't let us build land the same way!

I never understood some of the changes they made to the game that kinda took the nostalgia away from RCT, which in my opinion is a better operating system. For example, there's no "mute" button on the screen, which I didn't really notice until I got RC2 and it was gone. Now I miss it.

Thanks in advance for any solution to this problem! It really sucks not having this in RCT2!

Get a trainer (like 8Cars) that'll have a Mountain Tool that can be used in game.

I never noticed that option in the trainer before.

However the mountain tool IS available when you are in the scenario builder mode.

^Yeah I know its in scenario builder, but I want to be able to do while I'm beating a scenario.

I don't know what a trainer is. And when I go to the link provided by Devin Olson, it takes me to this page

Loading...

that has RCT2 Tracks and Parks, but no "trainer" option.

Is "8 Cars" a type of trainer option?

Ya a trainer is really the only way to do it. this was fixed toa point in RCT3 but it's a bit hard to work with.

Cool thanks a lot for the responses!

I figured out how to use the 8 Cars trainer, but the trainer doesn't enable the "mountain mode." So I searched around and found this trainer (the third one down is called "mountain tool").

Welcome to RCT Inc.

It is a trainer for exactly what I was looking for, but the mountain option is having a problem. In the trainer window, it won't let me switch land mover size to "0" (its previously set to "1") which is supposed to allow me to use the mountain tool. Its saying I have to enter a positive integer. So I checked out the readme file and it says that the trainer will only work with RCT2 US versions, which I'm pretty sure I have, except I have the RCT2 Triple Thrill pack with Time Twister and Wacky Worlds.

Could that be the reason its not letting me switch the land mover size to "0"?

I know there have been issues with the game when you have the expansion packs, and I'm hoping there's some way around this flaw, because I don't have the original RCT2 game.

In 8cars, the mountain tool is Landscape->Activate Mountain Tool for future reference. I use the triple thrill pack as well, it works perfectly.

^Do you mean Landscape-->Adjust Land Mover Size? My 8 cars doesn't have the "Activate Mountain Tool" option under landscape. But when I use land mover size I get this box...

So thanks a lot for the tip, you led me in the right direction, I'm going to see if its more convenient than the mountain tool trainer I was using previously!

I love getting stuff like this solved!
