Well I couldn't use it anyways 'cause I wanted to try out RCT 3 Demo, so I would wait until tomorrow anyways. But I hope that it is there this evening so that I can try it out for a coaster or two today.

It took me several tries to install it, had to uninstall no-limits and clean out the no limits references in the registry before it worked. Overall its nice. The cloud textures are more realistic, the frame rates are higher (though I have a GeForce 4200ti card) What I liked: Many spine types avaliable for the Schwarzkopf coasters (looping & hyper), shuttles now a reality, many graphic improvements to the Arrow/Vekoma & Schwarzkopf/Intamin hyper, incluing magnetic brakes that lean back when opened. Ge-Forces are now done at the heart-line level rather than the track level. Schwarzkopf Cone Plug (steel looping) coaster now has box beam option for box-beam loops. Now if he would have only included a 3-point option (not the current one) to mimick the lattice supports on the early Schwarzkopf & Arrow coasters he would have had something. Maybe on the next release? What I didn't like: brakes open constantly as you pass over them...that is, you have an MCBR, the next block is completely open, well you still hear the sound of the air being let out of the cylinders, even if you aren't slowing down. This gets annoying and should be selectable in the brakes dialogue section. Also shuttles cannot be full circuit (I already tried) meaning that if you wanted to do some kiddie style coaster like a Go-Gator (whatever floats your boat), its not possible. You can do it full circuit, but you'll have to slow it down yourself. Also the cable lifts pulling you back on the Boomerangs aren't realistic, instead of a tow-cable you get a chain lift. Going up the second hill on a real boomerange before going backwards the chain lift drops, but it doesn't here. I expect that will be rectified in time. Overall: Great update, many good things added, still more work to do, but this will suffice for now, it was obviously hard work, and it paid off!

I have a question....I had NL on my other computer, and have uninstalled it from there. I'm in school now and was wondering if I could somehow download it and enter my name/registration key (I have that printed out from when I ordered). Is that possible? Thanks!!

I can't wait to try it out more. I woke up at about 6:30 in the morning to see if it was up, and I'm glad I did. I didn't get to play it very long, and I hope to play with it a bit more tonight. After soccer practice... in the rain...

The additions are awesome. Shuttle coasters! Finally! The Intamin Hyper coaster support connections are cool too. It surprised me that there wasn't such a coaster in the update track files. About those update track files, does anyone know what that floorless is doing there? That heartline option is very handy too. I noticed that my G levels are completely different in some coasters. Overall, it's a really really GREAT update. I just wish you could place "support" planes (triangular, between three points) instead of tubes only.

There's too much to change around. Not for my rides of course though. Luckily, th only changes I need to do is for my prize coaster: Monsoon. I changed it to Intamin style already. That's about all I gotta do.

Alright, I finally got it to work, but my fps level has dropped drastically. I used to get around 80 fps, now I get around 13 fps. Wasn't this new update supposed to increase the fps level? EDIT: I restarted my computer, and now it works fine. Last edited by SFOG Freak; 09-29-2004 at 08:28 PM. |

For some reason, the editor has gotten less smooth (lower FPS) in moving with the arrow keys. The simulation in the Editor is also in much lower FPS now. I don't see a difference when I move the mouse, then it's as smooth as NL1.31 editor.

^ Ride Intamin coasters with non-Intamin supports. My track Warp Speed Blizzard is entirely messed up 'cause of those Intamin connectors. They are very realistic, but not in that ride.
