That's all the pics I have for now, because I'm leaving and I'm in a big hurry. It will give you the idea though. Later on I'll have pics of the real thing. |

| | | That looks pretty sweet Bowser and the drop is very Millennium Force-esque. The twister section looks very nice as well. If it's smooth and the G's are good, this is a winner.

| | | ^Thank you! Yes it's smooth. The g's may be pushing it a tad, but I think it's ok. The strongest postive g's are 4.8 I think, and the stongest negatives are -1.6 (both for only a split second). Remember, the duration of the g force is more important than the numbers. It doesn't hit red at all.
Anyway, I updated the page since this morning, so you guys can just click the same link above to see it. The track and supports are done, but I'm going to add a few trees and maybe some subtle landscaping. I'm not going to add thick forsets and big hills because I want it to feel like it's in a theme park. It will be available for download probably within 3 days. |

| | | Lookin' good.
Make sure you add supports to the last horizontal column on your first hill, also, are those beams or poles? (Intamin Hypers and Gigas use Beams as their supports)
Overall, looks good.

| | | Yeah, you might not want to use prefabs at all. Also, you should look at how Intamin supports connect to the track; they don't just converge at the track, they converge and then have another tube to connect with the track.
In my opinion, -1.6 is too strong, even for a moment.
Other than that it should be good if it is properly heartlined and smooth.

Dodonpa, which is a real ride pulls -1.8 I believe. That is too high in my opinion. -1.6 is my absolute limit. Quote: |

| Horizontal column? Lol. Anyway, I don't know what you're saying. By first hill, do you mean the first drop or the first parabola after the drop? |

| | | ^Actually they're building it my backyard! The landscaping's done, the footers are being poured, and after the winter, construction will go vertical. Trucks have been arrivng in my driveway with lots of blue and yellow steel, so I'll store it in my shed until Spring. |

| | | Are you sure the drop is around 75 degrees? It looks much steeper than that. |

| | | ^^I'm using a chain lift. That's the only kind of lift there is, at least in 1.55. I really want it to simulate a cable lift though, so I have it speed up around 1/5 of the way up.
^I'm just estimating. I suppose if I find my protractor I could hold it up to the screen and see, but it's somewhere between 75 and 80. MF is 80, and I don't think it's quite as steep as MF. |

BTW, I love this coaster, keep up the good work.

| | | You say that the duration of -1.6 vertical gs is very short.
Is it over the entire crest of a hill? If so, it could cause a very slight red-out on sensitive riders.
If it isn't sustained, then your hill shaping is off.
Just some thoughts.....

Just some thoughts..... | It isn't sustained. And I think you're going a little too far to say the shaping is "off". There are many cases where shaping of a hill could be bad, but a lot of it is personal taste and what kind of airtime you want on a particular hill. The hill that hits -1.6 for a split second is the one after the major turnaround, the one that kind of sticks up between the first drop and first camelback. In the front row, when going up, at the very beginning of the arch it hits -1.6, which is over so fast you can barely see the number. Then the rest of the crest keeps it at a pretty even -1.3. It's a very intense hill, but you're past it so fast that I don't think it's a big deal. As long as the hill is smooth, there's no pumps, and the g's aren't dangerous, then I'd say the shaping is all personal preference. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
