Leviathan - Junior Hyper

LEVIATHAN
http://www.NoLimitsDevCenter.net/p3853

An intamin junior hyper similar to Goliath at Walibi World. All I have to do is 3ds and if someone would be so kind as to export them (Yay Sketchup ) I'd be appreciative.

Try this neat little trick... [shhhh...]... Get the DEMO version of SketchUp and use that ONLY for exporting to 3ds. You get 8 hours of demo time, more than enough to export a bunch of 3ds. Just don't be careless with it, you can still use the free version for everything else you need to do.

I've got Sketchup Pro that I paid for, it's just the 3ds have shadow issues- and everything I've read on CoasterSims says other people have to export. I tried going from Blender but it was screwed up and didn't work.

^Yeah that was the only problem I had when trying to export the 3ds with sketchup; the shadows are weird and the edges look horrible. Looks like this'll be a great track.

I tried Wings 3D under XP and OS X and neither one did any better. I can always export to something other than 3ds and convert I guess.

It's done! And available in Speedzone for those people who want it. I made some modifications to the back area, though the ending airtime hill ejectors too much, but it'd be too much work to fix that now that the ride's heartlined.

Special thanks to Canadmos (Fatal Actions) for exporting my 3ds and explaining how so I can do it in the future And the ride is also dedicated to DemonHunter4337 seeing as he never got to ride Maverick though he was trying, and how I was originally making this a Maverick type ride.

So what's the SketchUp 3ds secret? I'm sure others are anxious to hear as well.

Well, you do have to export from Sketchup, then into any 3ds program (Anim8or or Wings or Whatever, I found Blender's 3ds didn't work) and it should work.

The PM from Canadmos (on ThrillVelocity)

I use the following method to export things to .3ds format;

First I export it from Sketchup to .3ds using the following settings; http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/1...7194602qm6.jpg

I then import that .3ds file into 3ds Max and then export it again with 3ds Max. I don't change anything in Max.

Again, I found that the the 3ds that I imported to wings/etc. worked, aside from Blender.

two words: track packager
In order for the file to read properly, you have to use the NL track packager to get 3ds to show. As far as I can tell...

Just open the NLTrack after extracting, it should have 3ds working (It did for me, at least)
