| Question on Spinning Coasters
My question is: Is heartlining something that I should do when making a spinner, I can't tell if they are in real life, and I'm striving for realism. Thanks in advance.

I would probably say go with the heart lining because mostly all modern day coasters are heart lined. Looks like there's some heart lining on this one... http://rcdb.com/ig2472.htm?picture=14 |

I wanted to ride that, but I didn't have time 8( I only got to ride air, oblivion, and nemisis. I would say heartline it.

What exactly is heartlining? I am familiar with the hearline roll but not this kind of heartline.

If your going for a Maure design (like the one Emann posted) then I would say yes. (p.s. Spinball whizzer was awsome. haha) if your going for a reverchon type coaster (like this one... http://rcdb.com/ig575.htm) Id say no.

^^Heartlining uses the same concept behind the heartline roll. You make the track roll around the riders instead of the riders roll around the track. When you make a banked turn without heartlining, the car rolls around the track, causing higher lateral Gs. When you heartline it, the track makes a dip and a move in the opposite direction of the curve in order to make the track roll around the curve. I'm not sure who came up with the idea, but I think B&M were the first to employ it throughout their coasters.

B&M coming up with heartlining?! Oh, no, no, no.... Stengel, *drools* Stengel is the god of roller coasters. He is too underestimated. Maverick was his 500th roller coaster! All the coasters at the Park at MOA are designed by him (besides lil' shaver the 2 foot tall kiddie). But yeah, heartlining is super fun on spinners. Plus it makes them look cooler to, ![]() -GG-
