| The hysteresis is really weird. Say you have the speed limit (S) at 10 mph, and the hysteresis (H) at 3 mph, then the brakes will slow the train down until the end of the segment if the initial speed is more than S+H. If the initial speed is between S and S+H, then it will only slow the train down until it reaches S. If it is less than S but more than S-H, it will release the brakes at S-H.
