We need a place to contain flame wars

Flaming has been a little out of hand recently(though recently it has died down a lot). The center of most of these flamings is this: Which is better? CP or SFMM? Of course supporters of both parks chime in, but after a while, it turns to flaming and the topic is locked.

I am requesting that there be a designated discussion zone that allows moderate flaming. This way, all flaming would be focused into one area, instead of all over the boards.

Topics that could be in this area:

A. Which is better CP or SFMM?
B. Is S:TE a coaster?
C. X vs MF

and any other such topics that have caused massive flaming.

We have had discussions about this before. The number of people who really want to discuss this is very very small. Allowing flaming would decrease the quality of our site, and we fear this kind of forum would get out-of-hand. We don't want people's feelings to get hurt. If you really feel the need to flame, please do it elsewhere. There are plenty of unmoderated forums on the net.

Once you allow a flame war section, people will start to flame in other areas of the boards. IMO it's best to keep all flaming to a minimum.
Besides, then all that flaming section would be spam and take up a lot of valuable cyberspace.

I had an idea along these lines but realized it would never fly. Maybe a flame thread like Message Board Games, but when people realize their flames don't sraw additional posts to the next rank, they will flame the other threads.

We should move all the flame threads to Canada. I mean...Canada's lame anyway and no one will notice. I think I'll PM Alex and suddgest this to him. Remember kids...BLAME CANADA!
