| Olympic Copyright
I tried to send an email, but note that the Olympic 5-Ring image is copyrighted by the IOC (International Olympic Committee). While I'm sure they appreciate the support, they reserve the use of that and all other Olympics related images to sponsors who pay for the priviledge and use. And even they have to go through an extensive approval process. And don't think the IOC will look away. Talk to anyone who's ever tried to maintain an "Olympic" restaurant. Even the name is copyrighted. |

Dude, chill the sites not for profit. The worst that happens is they have to remove it (which will never happen) and its not like its permanent.

![]() I think the IOC has bigger things to worry about. They're not going to care that the Olympic logo is used on a roller coaster message board .

Thanks for letting us know. If the Olympic committee complains, we'll remove it. I don't think it'll be a problem.

Do you really think that the IOC will go browsing on every single webpage looking for their precious logo?? They won't. Don't worry about it.

I'm glad to see that someone cares about intellectual property. The continuously growing abuse of it in our society bothers me. I think that Coasterforum's use of the Olympic Rings is entirely improper. Not that I doubt the good intentions of the people who run the site. Also, unless coasterforum is incorporated as a nonprofit, it's technically a for-profit thing. Even if it's not making a profit. (Amazon is a for-profit, even though it wasn't making a profit for years.) Not that I expect anything to happen, nor will I be upset. And, looking at the other response, I'd expect to get flamed here with something oh so clever like "why don't you just grow up" or "stop whining" or "no one cares." ![]() Later.
