I just got a new popup download ad on your website for Gator, which is alful spyware. There was recent article on Cnet saying these were coming, and now they have hit coasterforum I think its really bad how ad companies are doing this. The popup ads are annoying enough, can you please see about having all popup downloads removed?

Sounds like something to look into. I've gotten those before too, and they're pretty bad.

I fired off a nasty e-mail when i got one two months ago (in fact... on here). It's hard to identify which one is doing it. Gator denied that they were spyware, and that their software was responsible for messing up systems (which I know firsthand since I used to be a computer consultant and I've seen it as the primary cause of a computer messing up). I also told them that it was highly unethical in advertising for putting spyware on a computer with displaying ads (and they don't necessarily have to be pop-ups or pop-unders). For now, the best thing to do is make sure you decline to have it installed and then write Gator a letter showing your disgust.
