Interesting...
We did not write that FAQ statement. That is part of the FAQ vBulletin bundles with the forum software.

See below...

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/faq.p...b_poll_explain

What vBulletin writes for an example, and what we allow, are two different things. Plus the example is just that... an example. It's meant to demonstrate the usage of a feature on the forums, not as a guideline of what is/is not allowed on these forums.

That is why we have our terms of use at http://www.thrillnetwork.com/tos.php, plus moderator discretion. Mods felt that the poll had no real reason/direction to it, and they closed it.

Furthermore, I already gave our reasons as to why the thread was closed. My post is in the 2nd thread Robert mentioned, and I do not need to explain ourselves again. If you eventually want to restart a thread asking about favorite colors, ask us and we can help you make it more worthwhile where we don't consider it spam.

I thought that was interesting and worth noting...

Though my nickname in high school was "Orangie", my favorite color is...

GREEN

I got the nickname "Orangie" because this one time at band camp....

...I wore a bright orange shirt that said Van's gang or something like that. In any case, the shirt was bright orange. So the squad leader pointed my shirt out to everyone...started calling me "orangie" and then everyone started calling me "orangie".

I wore that shirt once was when I was a freshman during band camp. As the years progressed, so did the number of times I wore that shirt during band camp that week. It got as far as some people saying I wore it every day. Whatever. In any case, the nickname stuck and I got used to it.

Oh yes, amazing how the mention of the color orange brings back so many vivid memories...

Well, now that you've warned people to actually have a discussion about the colors they like, why not open the thread back up. You can see how the conversation could go, plus you coudl always put it in message board games with a link to a site that says what your favorite color means about you, or something like that.

See... now this thread has gone off topic...

I don't want to see another thread about this matter in HUO or Gen. Questions.

And yes, I'll close this....
