Major spelling/grammar/formatting issues

NOTE: This is for all major spelling, grammar, and formatting issues. While we all have the occasional error or two in our posts (I myself am guilty), this is to report major errors (someone really not paying attention to spelling, grammar, or formatting).

Ideally, long posts should be in paragraphs and in a readable font (the whole post is not to be in size 4 font, bolded, all one huge, single paragraph instead of multiple smaller paragrahs, and in yellow, for example). There is to be no Internet shorthand or TXT (text) messaging shorthand that wireless providers like Verizon tout. Grammar is important because it does affect readability. The sad thing is I have seen 10 year olds masquerading as older members who can actually exceed the standards we have for post quality, compared to others. Likewise, claims of dyslexia do not fly on TN as we do have members and staff that have dyslexia, and they can post well within our standards with no problem whatsoever.

For those who are offenders: we do have instructions on how to add spell checking to popular Windows browsers....

http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/...ad.php?t=36400

However, like dyslexia, that is also not an excuse to rest on... it's a tool to help make things just a little easier... not a tool to replace your spelling abilities (or lack thereof).

Lastly, sheer laziness or your wanting to post as much as you can do not fly. We emphasize quality over quantity. If you want your custom avatar, just post 3 times a day for 6 months... it's within reach, and that is actually my average. There is also the EDIT button, so if you need to fix any spelling/grammatical/formatting errors, learn to use it. It works.

Posts 19-22 could all use editing.Nothing major, but when there is that many bad posts in a row, that is annoying.

Montu Man, this thread is for major issues. Not putting an apostrophe in "aint" is not major. If the poster wrote, "dud3 i lik goliath u r kewl" maybe it'd warrant posting.

# 13

He doesn't know how to type "with" or "at" and is putting "@" and "w/". This is not AIM.

Would this type of post be considered "too much slang?"

[EXAMPLE]Omg, why the heck would SFAW have to be closed down?!?!?!?!?! IMO it should have stayed open. Six Flags better not do this to any other parks. At least B:TE and BK are being relocated to SFDL.[/EXAMPLE]

^^ mmb088 you don't help the situation by flaming him about it either.

If you have an issue with a member you need to take it up in this thread or PM a moderator, not flame him in other threads.

Actually, if he has been warned enough by moderators to abide by the etiquette and make a WILLFUL attempt to watch the quality of his posts (by using proper spelling/grammar), he can be banned (and we have banned others for not doing so). Though, I can't seem to find any evidence where he has not made such an attempt, so I wouldn't ban him.

If you have trouble understanding him, ask him POLITELY to fix or clarify what he is saying.

KingOfNynex2003's comment uses the numbers 2 and 4 in the wrong way too many times.

AIM-esque language is used without any use of capital letters and punctuation.

Yeah we get paid... here's our salary structure (per year)...

Alex: $0 (he's sunk the most money into the site)
Steven: $0 (I have sometimes sunk my own money into the site)
Graham: $0
Katie: $0
Moderators: $0
Editors: $0

So yeah... we get paid.

Anyway, let's keep it to the thread's topic.
