That's a bravo with the weather.

The Cure was at the Spectrum on Saturday. I wish I was there.

So besides the cold and the wind... The Hush Sounds..sound was way too high. Such a big let down after seeing them last summer... Panic was cool (Fall Out live is better)

Oddly.. They didnt have a pit area or anything.
That's weird as far as Hush Sound goes, they were mixed nicely here (as were everybody else, MCS aside. Speaking of which, how were Motion City and Phantom Planet

Told ya' Panic was good live now.

Phantom Planet had issues, they were the opener.. Sun hadn't gone down yet (TV screens didn't show up and the lights they had on the stage, useless) And well... I don't think anyone knew any of their songs (but California)

MCS... I didn't know anything about (sorry) but they sounded pretty ok. Better than Phantom Planet. Everyone around me seemed to be into it. People knew the words when it was sing along time.

Anybody here going to Lollapalooza in Chicago this summer? Radiohead, Wilco, Bloc Party, The Raconteurs, Rage against the Machine, and lots of other bands are gonna be there this year.

I am! I can't wait. I'm going to it instead of doing a senior beach week. 12 and half hour drive to chicago, its going to be crazy weekend. Are you going?

Heres the acts that I will definitely be seeing (as long as the schedule doesn't screw me over. )

In order according to the lolla lineup...
Radiohead!
Rage Against The Machine
Nine Inch Nails
the Raconteurs!
Bloc Party!
Gnarls Barkley!
Flogging Molly
Brand New!
Gogol Bordello!
CSS
Black Kids
Manchester Orchestra!

Plus quite a few others that I may check out depending on timing.

For anyone else that is curious, heres the full lineup...

www.lollapalooza.com

Are you going Sheikra?

^ In regards to Radiohead, they were in Houston last night. I didn't "see" them exactly, they had sold out of tickets. My room mate was able to get a lawn ticket.

So, in my lameness and desperation, I just got a friend who actually loved Radiohead more than I did but didn't have a ticket either and just camped out in this park next to the venue they were performing. It's a pavilion so the acoustics of the venue just drive the sound out, and we had a perfect spot. The only thing that separated us from actually seeing Radiohead was $160, police and several metal gates. They actually played quite a bit from In Rainbows, and a handful of songs from their other albums (Hail to the Theif, OK Computer, etc). They did an encore, but it was also kind of funny. They performed their first three songs from In Rainbows in the same exact order as the CD's tracklisting. They pretty much maintained that order throughout the show except for playing "Videotape" in a different spot than at the end.

Great show to listen to. The Houston Chronicle has a review that sums it up pretty well.

I think it's also noteworthy to say that apparently Radiohead is trying to be extremely environmentally friendly. They didn't use projectors, and their $40 T-Shirts were made of materials produced from recycled plastic bottles.

I would love to go for nothing but Rage.
But the no license thing kinda poses a problem.

I'm going to Lolla on Friday to see:

Radiohead
The Raconteurs
Bloc Party
Wilco(they might go on Saturday)

I live 90 minutes from downtown. I hope I can see Bloc Party and Raconteurs but people think they will play at the same time.

Me and a few friends also might go to The Raconteurs and Radiohead on June 9th in Detroit.
Also, The Hold Steady and Spoon are at the Pitchfork Music Fest in Chi-town July 18-19th.

I love The Hold Steady! They have a new album coming out July 14th.

Yeah, I've been reading that as well, the Raconteurs vs. Bloc Party thing, that is going to hurt if that does happen. Heres to hoping one of the two have an aftershow one of the nights.

Those are my two favorite bands that are going so that would really suck. I like Radiohead but my friend loves them. So he said that he wants to see Radiohead if they are up against Wilco, another one of my favorites. But I guess we can see Chicago natives Wilco whenever we want.

Also, we might only go Friday because all the bands we want to see are Friday. We thought there would be a one-day pass but the FAQ said they wouldn't have one-day passes if the multi-day passes sell out. Which would suck to have to pay $190 for something you don't want.

Yeah, that would suck. Of course, Last I checked, the second level of 3 day tickets (the 190 ones) hasn't even sold out yet, (In case your confused as to what I'm talking about, there were three levels of tickets, 175, 190, and 205, each one going on sale when the first one sells out, the 175 sold out first day). I figured, with the top heavy lineup they have this year, tickets would be selling really fast, but the fact that the 190 tickets are still available makes me wonder If I am incorrect on this deduction.

You may want to go ahead and go to that Raconteurs show you were considering going to, that way you don't have to worry about conflicts as much. I'm starting to think that the AT&T stage may go Gogol Bordello --> Bloc Party --> Radiohead, which is beautiful in my opinion. ( i highly suggest checking out Gogol Bordello if you end up going friday, and Don't completely judge them on there recorded material, it doesn't capture their insane live shows at all really... One of my most anticipated of the weekend.)

The fact that I (and especially my friends I am going with) will never miss Raconteurs, It seems like this perfect lineup on the AT&T stage may get spoiled by having to run across the Park to the Raconteurs, therefore missing BP and having a terrible viewing spot for Radiohead.

But the Raconteurs in Detroit is just an opening for Radiohead. So like 5-10 songs tops. The Raconteurs new album is a masterpiece. I love every song.

Hmmm, I believe someone must have misinformed you at some point, The Raconteurs are actually playing Detriot two nights, June 7th and June 8th at the Fillmore. (says their myspace)

Radiohead is actually not playing Detriot at all, according to their website at least...

http://radiohead.com/tourdates/

and they will be in Europe in June.

Alright, my friend's brother just saw Radiohead in St. Louis last weekend I think. My friend suggested going to Raconteurs in Detroit and I thought he said they were opening for Radiohead. He was probably also misinformed or confused. Raconteurs in Detroit on June 7th is sold out but Sunday isn't. We might go. Have you actually seen them live?

Negative. I live in the middle of nowhere, I've barely seen anyone live.

But, I did watch their Coachella performance on a live webcast and it was quite good. Jack White is an amazing front man (even though he is technically a co-front man in this group, he still steals the stage).

I'm quite excited for their Lolla set.

(p.s. this is the same time I saw Gogol live, they seriously blew me away, I can not wait to see them)

I've only seen Umphrey's McGee live. They are amazing live. They are from South Bend. If you ever get the chance to see them, go.

The Liars opened for Radiohead here in Houston.

BGWfanatic, did you see Racs yesterday at Bonaroo on the Live music . It was so amazing. Jack White was going crazy and it made me and my friend decide to skip Bloc Party and our good place for RH to see The Racs full set.

I went and saw Opeth a few weeks ago in Myrtle Beach, which was awesome, if short. Next week, a concert I've been waiting for forever... Iron Maiden! I finally get to see my alltime favorite band live. Hopefully it will be an event to remember. Besides Fear of The Dark, they are only doing songs from the 80s albums.
