after Gogol, we double timed it across the park to catch the Raconteurs, and we were actually able to get a very good spot. And I'm glad we did. Wow, the Raconteurs were great. One of the best shows I've seen in general, and definitely the best I saw at the Fest. every member of that group is an insane musician, and they weren't afraid to show that. Jack White went into another world during "blue veins". my only complaint is that the set didn't include at Carolina Drama, oh well though. something to look forward to for the next time. After this was Radiohead, but since we had stuck it out the whole time at the Raconteurs, and did not bother to run across the field to get back to Radiohead, I had a terrible spot for them. The sound quality was terrible, and I was surrounded by drunk people that were more interested in socializing than the show. So we decided to leave a little early and rest up for what was to come later that night. Friday night we had tickets to the Gogol Bordello aftershow at the Metro. After a bit of a subway ride, which we shared with many fellow festival goers, who all started sing alongs in the train (haha, that was an interesting trip). We got to the metro around 11 and gogol went on around 12. The venue was great, it was very intiment, and even though it held about 1500 people, you felt like you were right on top of the stage no matter where you were. The show was insane. They went on and on, I had no idea they could keep that high of energy for so long, especially after already had performing earlier. They played all the favorites, similar to their festival set, and then they came out for an "encore" which turned into a 50 minute long freak out session, that included a medley of their best songs, and some lesser known fan favorites. I couldn't believe it everytime they would go into another song, I had no Idea anybody could play like they did. It was an amazing experience. at about 2 am we staggered out of the venue and headed back home. Lets just say I had no trouble sleeping that night. haha I'll try and recap the other two days at some point as well...

I just went to Revelation Generation in Frenchtown, NJ last night. It's been the 3rd one held I believe, my first in attendance. Awesome show. It was actually worth every dollar of the admission. I felt that when Toby Mac came on. I walked to see Six Pence Non the Richer in progress. I caught Flyleaf's whole set, as well as Toby Mac. I walked in to see a song or two of As I Lay Down. The night cap with the Newsboys was the biggest highlight. It's been 5 years surprisingly since I last saw them. I owed then a return. Delayed last year and I promised to do it this year. Thanks Rev Gen. It was a great first one for me.

I'm probably going to see All Time Low, Mayday Parade, The Maine and Every Avenue in October. Looking forward to it- ATL and Mayday Parade look like they always have fun, The Maine are hometown heroes, and Every Avenue sounds alright too.

I saw Foreigner today at SFGAdv. It was kind of distracting with all of the rolller coasters and such, but it was still awesome. I've seen them twice now, hope to see them again next year too.

I would have figured the music would drown out the roaring Medusa, so close by. That's the only time I ever had a problem with Medusa and when they had Catholic Mass in the arena. I went to that, too much roar from Medusa to concentrate. The park was cool to close that during that now. That's only a hour-hour half without one of 13-14 coasters, not a big loss for a short duration. If the crowd could fit in the other arenas that would be cool too. Movietown Arena is smaller, maybe too small for what is drawn to those events.

I don't know and never will know how mass gets, but Foreigner was packed. There was some space on the floor in the back near the arena entrance, but that was it. But as far as noise...you can only hear the music. The coasters are only visual distractions.

...bump? I just got back from seeing Jack's Mannequin's Hammer and Strings tour stop here in Houston. They played at an intimate venue (max 300 capacity.) The Treaty of Paris and Eric Hutchinson opened for them. I got to meet and hang around with the band for a while talking to them. I was invited over to a bar by one of the band members. "..." Haha, me being under-aged and all, I couldn't go with them, but I was very pleased to have been invited! At any rate, I got to meet Andrew, one of my "meet this guy before I die" on my bucket list goals, and he was a great person. Very genuine and personable. Took the time to meet and talk to everyone. I'm going to see Coldplay in late November, followed by B.B. King that same week. I am excited. I can't sleep.

I'm about to go see O.A.R in a few minutes. They are having a free concert at my college for all the students. I know some of the old stuff, but know only their main song that's out right now. Should be fun nonetheless.

I'm seeing Bright Eyes' alter ego Connor Oberst Saturday with a friend. I'm not really into him, but I haven't yet been to a bad concert, so I think it should be good.

It was an an awesome concert. I recognized a bunch of songs, and the ones I didn't know were still really good. I think the song Shattered (turn the car around) was probably the one everyone knew most, but that's because it was the most recent one. This was easily though the best free concert I have ever been to, and I would have gladly paid to go to it. My favorite was City on Down, and the one I never heard I liked was That Was a Crazy Game of Poker.

I went to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra tonight. Every year these guys amaze me. The lights and sounds are simply out of this world. They do tend to change the show around every year even though they have been doing the same show for the last 4 years so it makes it all that more exciting to go every year cause you really never know what to expect and these guys always deliever a top show. If you have never been to see TSO live you really have to at some point. I have been going for 5 years straight and it just gets better and better every year. I'm already looking foward to next years show. Enjoy the pictures. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I won two tickets to see the Edge Exclusive Gob concert this Thursday (only way in is to win tickets through 102.1 Edge). I haven't listened to them in ages and don't know any of their new stuff, but it's a free concert.

Concert last night was amazing. Started with a local band called Outspoken. Not too bad, had a good song or two. The Salads were up next, and are an amazing party band. Jumping, smiling, going crazy, and just altogether a great band. They started with two rounds of their version of the Spongebob theme, played Get Loose, Unhappy, and Roth Kung Fu. Johnstones were third. I had never heard of them, but the energy they brought to the show was up their with the Salads. They had a trombone and trumpet player along with some crazy drums, guitar, and bass. Part way through their set The Salads came out with sliced lunch meat and stuck it on the Johnstone's...their sweat just made it stick. Finally, Gob was up. We only stayed for part of their set because we didn't want to miss the last train home, but we got to hear a good 6 or 7 songs. Plus most of the songs that we really wanted to hear from them. Oh! Ellin, Give up the Grudge, No Regrets, For the Moment, Paint it Black, and a few others. Only missed one song that I wanted to hear, which I figure they closed with. Great concert. Happy it was free, but gladly would have paid for the tickets.

I'm going to see Fall Out Boy (finally), All Time Low (finally), Cobra Starship, Metro Station and Hey Monday on the 3rd of April, should be a good show. They're really good, and all the stuff in the video blogs from them recording their new record sounds really good.

Yeah, I found someone to go to Believers Never Die with last night.. So I picked up a few tickets.. Only going for Fall Out and Cobra (seen both before already) I was kinda mad about HCT.. Until I found out All American Rejects were the header. I wouldnt have gone anyways. Although 07 was fun with Fall Out Boy.. in a thunder storm (outdoor show) and last year with Panic was fun.. Outdoors next to the ocean.. and it was like 38*s (everyone had winter jackets on or 2 or 2 hoodies!) Believers Never Die will be indoors thankfully. |

Believers is outside here, same place Civic Tour was last year, so it should be amazing- that venue was great. I'm going mostly for Fall Out Boy and All Time Low, because their lead singer got sick for the Phoenix date in October, so I feel like I ought to see them now. Fall Out Boy's gonna be amazing, my friend's hugely into them, and Cobra Starship isn't bad- not too keen on Metro Station or Hey Monday though. Mostly I'm looking forward to All Time Low, and I hope they play new songs, that'll be great if they do.

Cobra was by far the funnest band I've seen live. I dont know why.. But everyone was just really happy.. And I dont think many of the people there even knew of them outside of Bring It (although I did.. lol) They came around here last fall and played a reallly small indie-venue but it was sold out before I could get a ticket (14$s and the place only holds like 300 people) Same thing happened with Fall out a few weeks back. They played this realllllllll small club in Boston and tickets were only available at the venue itself and people lined up a day or two before the sale.. because it was gonna be such a 'private' show |

Silversun Pickups, Crystal Method, Ghostland Observatory, and Crystal Castles? Mmmm. And I always think Coachella by far has some of the most interesting/diversified lineups. I will make the trip cross country one of these years.

^Saw that last week. Looks very good. Hopefully Lolla get grab some of the same bands like The Hold Steady, Cage the Elephant, TV on the Radio, Fleet Foxes, Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Okkervil River again. Also would like to see The Killers. There is a tiny chance I might go to Bonaroo to see Phish. Although they are playing in Indy after Roo. One of my friends can't go to the Indy one so we might go to Roo instead but I bet we go to the Indy show and then Lolla in August. I assume your not going to Lolla again this year considering the distance.

I am kinda disappointed with Roo's lineup. To be honest, I would only be excited about Phish, TV on the Radio, MGMT, Beasties, Wilco, and Decemberists. Not worth $250+. For me, could have been much better. Last year's was lengendary I think. Hopefully Lolla can blow us away in April.

The guy who lives next to me in my Residence Hall is planning on going to Bonnaroo this year. He also just bought his Bruce Springsteen tickets (I think) yesterday. I'm very jealous to say the least... The Coachella line up is not bad either!
