I saw Believers Never Die (Hey Monday, Metro Station, All Time Low, Cobra Starship, and Fall Out Boy) last Friday. Pretty much a great show, aside from Metro Station and the crowd they draw. Nobody listening to them really gets what being in a pit is about from what I could tell, cause they'd shove you down and not help you up so you'd be relying on the people there from All Time Low and Cobra Starship to help you up. Sort of a shame, to be honest. Cobra was incredible, as were All Time Low and Fall Out Boy.

The National put on an awesome show, I saw them open for Arcade Fire a while back, good stuff. So far I'm going to see The Prodigy in a month in DC, thats the only show I have tickets to.

Offspring are finally coming back to Toronto. I will be buying my tickets tonight or tomorrow with my birthday money. I was going to get New Found Glory tickets, but I'd rather see the Offspring.

Just got back from the Offspring concert. One word to describe it: Amazing. Pennywise and Frank Turner opened for them, both putting on great shows. I never heard of Frank Turner, but I bought his CD right after his set. He was even telling fans that he was looking for people to hang out with tomorrow and had us e-mail him if we were free. I just e-mailed him to say I really enjoyed his music. Offspring had a text-vote to pick a song they would play during the set; the song I voted for (Meaning of Life) was picked, which was awesome. They did Gone Away on piano, and I still cant get over how great it was; I love that song. They closed out their set with Self Esteem and everyone singing along. My throat is still killing me from yelling and singing along. That was by far one of the best concerts I have been to.

I recently went to the Cheap Trick, Poison, Def Leppard concert in Camden. It was the first show of their tour. I also worked the Kenny Chesney concert at the LINC in Philly with Lady A, Miranda Lambert, Montgomery Gentry, Sugarland, and himself headlining.

A month ago my band and I opened for Karate High School at Chaser's in Scottsdale, and July 24th we're playing a headlining show. Still dunno who's supporting us though. It's definitely gratifying to be on the stage compared to the crowd.

I love Blink-182(obviously) but after watching their performance on one of the late night shows(Leno's?) I was so disappointed in Tom. So instead of seeing their show near me, I chose to get Dream Theater tickets instead. Maybe I'll get to blink some other other time, plus I've already seen them pre break-up and want to diversify my concert experiences which so far is mostly punk. I loved it though.

Tom sang like that in AVA. Their voices, especially Tom's, have deepened and grown more mature. But after watching videos from their T-Mobile Secret Show at Universal Studios I realized their personalites are still just as funny and immature. I'm pumped for their show. Just not for Panic! at the Disco and Fallout Boy.

Panic At the Disco actually put on a pretty good show. I saw them two years ago on tour for their first CD. They had a great looking set and had a good stage presence.

Saw VNV Nation live in Atlanta last week. Spectacular show! Seeing the Avett Brothers in Charlotte in a few weeks too, that'll be an awesome concert. I want Daft Punk to start touring again, they put on the most brain-melting light shows ever seen. (Need proof? Search for "Alive 2007" on Youtube and watch the videos.)

I saw Rise Against with Rancid last night. Rise Against is amazing live and put on a great show. They started with Collapse (Post Amerika), finished with Ready to Fall and did plenty of other songs including my two favorites The Good Left Undone and Saviour. I was also able to get my camera inside so I was able to take plenty of pics and record a few videos of them performing. Next concert is Blink 182 with Weezer and Taking Back Sunday on Aug 23.

Summer Concert Update... Saw Coldplay in New Orleans and in Houston. Snow Patrol opened in NOLA, while Kitty, Daisy and Lewis and Amadou & Mariam opened in Houston. Just got back from shooting the Katy Perry show in Houston tonight. She's energetic, fun, bouncy, and cute. Fun gig to cover. The Daylights opened for her.

Just got back from Blink 182 with Weezer, Taking Back Sunday, and Chester French. That was easily the greatest concert I have been to. Taking Back Sunday played for about 40min, and did my two favorite songs. Weezer played for a good hour and even did an encore of Buddy Holly. They were crazy on stage; the lead singer was all over the place and just moving like crazy. I definitely have to see them again as headliners...even though they pretty much played a full set like a headliner. Blink 182 played for about 1.5 hours doing plenty of their hits and other songs. They act crazy on stage, telling jokes and just doing stupid things; it was a really good show. For their encore they lifted Travis and his set up above the stage, pulled him across the set, tilted him just about 90degrees down and spun him and set...pure awesome.

I wonder how Travis looked like after his plane accident that he was really lucky to survive.

He looked completely fine. I hate to say it, but I thank that plane for crashing. Without it, I really doubt Blink would be back together right now.

I saw ATRAK at Webster Hall a few weeks ago and it was quite a show. Next up this year is in two weeks, Electric Zoo Festival. I'm only going on Saturday, but as long as I see Deadmau5 I'll be happy. Other artists playing that day that I intend to see are Kaskade, Danny Tenaglia, Benny Benassi, and Steve Aoki (seen him once at Webster, he's pretty sick). The second day has a lot more artists that I like (Axwell & Angello, David Guetta, Ferry Corsten, Josh Gabriel...) but I wouldn't wanna miss Deadmau5 for any of them. |
