My school just announced this year's campus fest festival for frosh week...
Mobile (I like)
Hedley (I kinda like)
Kardinal Offishall (dont like)

Last year was Yellowcard, which I unfortunately missed, and I was hoping that we'd get them again this year. But these bands should do just fine.

On the 16th I saw Poison and Cinderella here in Charlotte. It was a good show, Cinderella was my favorite of the two even though the lead's voice was shot.

Roger Waters by himself is okay as long as he doesn't do any songs that involve David Gilmour. The guy he uses to do Gilmour's vocals isn't that good. Being a total Floydian, it sucks. I really hate to see his version of DSOTM. Get the Pulse concert dvd for that.

Just got back from seeing Dylan. It was amazing. He played a completely reworked setlist (from earlier dates this summer) that included 4 songs he hadn't done all year. It was amazing to see the setlist unfold, I doubt I'll ever get to another concert that good.

The last concert I went to (and most likely the only one for a while) was Green Day. I loved it, they are amazing live. They just work with the crowd so much, instead of just hearing loud music.

The concert I've been waiting for all summer is finally here. I get to see Pepper, The Wailers, and 311 tomorrow.

Stadium Arcadium is a really good cd^, I own and love it.

I went to an O.A.R. concert. Jack's Mannequin opened, they were okay but much better live. O.A.R. was awesome, I reccommend seeing them in concert or buying their live, or non-live, cds.

I also went to a Blues Traveler concert, that band from the 90's that sung Runaround and used the harmonica a whole lot. That too, was a really good concert...too bad they arent nearly as big as they used to be.

I wonder if The Who is still going like the Rolling Stones? I always wanted to see The Who live...

They're not really the Who anymore, now it's Daltrey and Townsend with some other guys. Not worth it for me, never been much of a Who fan. Their rhythm section was their best part and Moon and Entwistle are both dead.

I just went to the 4th Annual Jack Ingram R.A.M. Fest. It was a blast. I finally got to see Chris Knight play. He has become a favorite of mine. Then we saw Charlie Robison, he was sweet. His El Cerrtio jam was amazing. Then we finally saw Randy Rogers Band. They were bad ass. They put on a great show. Nice to hear some songs of their new record.

I just saw Big D and the Kids Table last night at the best club in the world...CBGB! It was absolutely insane. I couldn't believe it. There's so much Rock history in that place, its all over the walls and the bathroom. The band was so kick-ass, I would love to seem them again. I was kind of sad today though, as I realize I'm never going to CBGB again. But at least I've been there, and proud of it.

In August I'd said I doubted I'd ever go to a better concert than that Bob Dylan one, I was wrong. Last night he put on an even more amazing show. His voice was the best it's been in years (despite it being his 4th straight night with a show). He also opened the show with a live debut. Can't wait till he comes around again.

Oh yeah, the Raconteurs were pretty amazing as well.

Its finally official! I just bought the tickets for the My Chem show in Richmond in one week. It may be a three hour drive, and make me miss a class, and I may not get home until 2 and have to go to school the next day, but its going to be so worth it.
One week couldn't come faster!

Saw my favorite band, The Aquabats, in Denver yesterday. Yeah, it rocked. It was general admissiona and I was right up at the stage. Got to high-five the lead vocalist. Also, got to shove some 14 year old moshers around.

I went to Norma Jean last night.

Had to sit through two crappy local bands, a piece of crap emo band called Fear Before the March of Flames.

Even Norma Jeans set started out sucking. They played the 3 singy songy singles off the new album. All the 15 year old scene kids sung along. BUT THEN, they busted into the old stuff from 2002. I got my hardcore dancing on, and everyone in the pit knew all the words....but no one else did.....sigh.

All in all, the show sucked except for Norma Jean who destroyed.

Normally, my concert news involves going off to see Bryan Adams, as I have seen him 20 times now.

However, this week, I am up for something different...... going to see El Vez at the Horseshoe Tavern here.

Yup, the Mexican Elvis.......

Wish I could have stayed overnight and seen them the day after Bob Dylan, but I had a family gathering that day.

HPStorm, you a fan of Zappa?

I saw Zappa Plays Zappa tonight in Orlando. It was really awesome. I haven't seen anything like that before. Dweezil Zappa is carrying on Frank's legacy. Steve Vai was ridiculous. Ten people played in the band, and they all were amazing.

I like Zappa, not a whole lot but I listen to him pretty often. Sounds like it was a good show. I would probably go if they came reasonably close to me.
