Anyway, just a thought, there has to be a way to get RCT1 or 2 on a Touch. A Touch has 620 MHZ and 128mb RAM, which more than meets the requirements of RCT2. My old dinosaur of a Gateway was running 470 MHZ/64mb RAM and I ran RCT2 no problem.
Like I said, just a thought.

| | | That would be really sweet if we could get it running on a Touch or the iPhone. I wonder how you would do it? I was thinking of getting the Touch, do you have one? |

| | | While I don't see the point of installing RCT1/2 on the touch/iphone I think someone would try to do it (or any other app for that matter) just for the challenge. I don't have the experience or the time to take on such a task.
What are people's opinion on the touch?
I ordered my 16BG right after the September announcement and had it a few weeks later. Now that i've jailbroken in I couldn't imagine having it in its original form. There are so many great little games/apps that are available out there plus all of the customization is great.
I love my touch! |

| | The cleanup from all the barf alone wouldn't make it worth it.
And how would you be able to see the peeps and stuff on that tiny screen? I know it's a bigger screen that an iPod, but I just don't get watching everything on a 2 inch screen.
Bigger is better when it comes to games and movies IMO.
If they came out with a bigger screen, kinda like a split-screen then maybe it would be better.
I'm just too old I guess for all this crap now. I use a cell phone to call people. Not email/text/listen to music/play games, etc etc.

That's really all I have to say. After buying my MacBook, any "Do It All" portable device seems 100% pointless to me. I "Do it all" on my MacBook.

I really want a Touch. I think they are the greatest invention in history, aside from maybe food.

| | | ^ummm... Sliced bread?
I still enjoy it from time to time. We already have a laptop, and although they are great, it's kinda nice to be able to fit everything in you pocket. Honestly, I am going to go out on a limb here aqnd say that by the end of 2008 there will be honest pocket PCs, running full versions of windows or whatever and be able to do everything a PC can do now. Well for the most part at least... gaming on a pocket PC might be kinda hard.

Aren't there already those? I think they're called "Blackberrys"? I've never actually played with one, but my understanding is that they are pretty much Pocket PC's, at least the really expensive ones. And the iPod Touches/iPhones are pocket Macs. (Basically. Yes, they have touch screens, but it basically runs everything macs run).

| | | I'm waiting for the day that they just implant a chip in your brain and you just think of a person and it dials them up.
Then you'll play VR games in your head too. No more email, since your thoughts will be trasmitted to anyone in the world.
Don't laugh, they're probably working on it right now.
If the show "Chaotic" became reality, I would so be in heaven.

Seriously though, the iPhone, iPod Touch, Sidekick LX, Blackberry, Palm Treo etc. are rather useless to me. If I need to do work "on the go", I stop into a library with my laptop, sit down, and do work. Not require half of campus to dodge me as I gaze into my screen texting as I walk to class.
Don't get me wrong, I love iPods, but getting to the point where you want to play RCT2 on your iPod touch is almost greedy...you have music, movies, Podcasts, TV Shows, and even the internet.

Non-philosophical-ly though, I want something I can carry discretly in my pocket. Honestly, I would probably but something like RCT2 on my iPod just so I can say I did it. It doesn't even seem practical at all. Quote:

And If iPod Touches/iPhones are pocket macs, why do I have to jump over fences and barriers just to download new third-party software like games and IM apps.

As for the whole RCT thing on a touch, I think the whole point of the exercise would be to say that it can or can't be done...I don't think anyone would actually find it useful...but it might be able to open doors for someone to develop a means to install any desktop app for the odd time that one can't get to a computer or isn't carrying a laptop.
One of the best apps that I've installed on my touch is the notes app from the iphone...in the last month alone - besides the music - it is the one app that I've used the most. I take to appointments with vendors for my wedding so my fiance and I can document things. Something that, I believe, a laptop wouldn't be practical for. |

| | | ^I take notes on my phone alot too.
Does anyone else find the iPod cables really slow? I just got my 80GB video back from Apple and the process of transferring all my stuff back onto it is taking FOR EVER. It may just seem slow because I am transferring about 60 GB of data at once.
Also, my experience with Applecare was much more enjoyablethis time, and my iPod was back in my hands in just 5 days after shipping it out.
