Speed Racer

I wasn't really a big fan of the show when I was a kid. Hell, I think I may have only seen 1 or 2 episodes...which could be because the show was before my time, but the trailer for the new movie adaptation looks pretty cool.

Check it out there.

2008 is really shaping up to be a good year for movies.

I saw just as much as you did and recognized the music and shots on the original show. The race setting looks like something you'd see on a video game screen, video game level. I don't think I want it to look like a racing video game.

Europa Park's coaster will be better than Maverick.

It has a surprisingly good cast, especially with Emile Hirsch as the lead role. All I worry about is Christina Ricci, but I guess she could turn out to be good...I haven't seen her in anything before.

Edit: Excuse me, I was thinking of Nicole Ricci (Richie?)

This could really go either way.

But I'm definitely interested to see what becomes of this!

I was given bad info on this movie, it looks good for kids, but not what I remember from my youth... Also, on the website it lists the featured cast and crew and Speed is not a featured cast member. When was the last time a movie's title character was an afterthought...?

I saw this before National Treasure 2 and thought it was really interesting looking.

I never got into the old cartoon, but the trailer got me really interested in seeing this one. It looks kinda like Beowulf where it's CGI animation, but it looks really photo realistic too (the people). When the trailer started and the Speed Racer music start I was like, what the heck!?

Cloverfield or whatever it's called still is the best looking trailer so far to me.

I saw the trailer for Cloverfield earlier in the year before they gave it's name. That movie looks like it could be really good, or they already showed us the best parts. I hate when they do that...
