It seems NBC has run out of fresh ideas lately and is going back to the 80s for ideas.
I've watched about half of the pilot that aired Sunday and I have to say that I'm a lot more impressed than I was expecting.
At least in the pilot, the way they shot it feels like a movie more than a TV show. I'm just thankful I have Tivo so I can skip the 5,000,000,000 commercials.
I wanted to but I had a Flyers game I attended. My friend did watch it. I first heard Will Arnett of Arrested Development was going to be the voice of KIT but that didn't go I hear.

Europa Park's coaster will be better than Maverick.
They set the bar at a pretty decent height with the first episode. I'll be tuning in for another episode.

Check the listings. The movie might replay on Saturday on NBC. I would catch it this time.
It does sound like Will Arnett of Arrested Development but I did check and the net says GMC asked for him to step down cause he did GMC ads for them before. There are sites saying Val Kilmer stepped in.

Well, they do have access to the very technology that he was built with, so I found that to be realistic and reasonable. If it wasn't for that, I'd agree that it was somewhat sucky. As for the normal car argument, what else would happen? The thing that makes KITT, well, KITT, is the computer afterall.

Actually the original Kitt was coated in a polymer that was activated by a high frequency shield. The only way to de-activate the shield was to hit it with a lazor of the same frequency...

I definitely forgot about that, but I'm still ok with the new KITT having that vulnerability.

I actually very much enjoyed the new Knight Rider. It was shot as a movie with an "insider" type clue that there is possibly a series. Near the end the new Mike asks The Hoff, "Will I see you again?" To which he replies (in jest of a coming TV series,) "I certainly hope so."
I watched the rebroadcast on Saturday. I liked the movie. The car has spirit. I could really tell it was Val Kilmer as KITT. When I first heard that Val Kilmer was going to be the replacement voice I thought we was going to try to sound more like Will Arnett. I did hear in advance ads or somewhere else Will's voice as KITT though he had to drop out. It's in that Youtube ad up above^.
The beginning of the 80's theme music I loved hearing. The car rolled out of a cargo plane rather than a 18 wheeler at the end.

I guess Different World will be the next 80s NBC show to get a modern makeover. LOL
I hope they do make a series out of it. I find it weird that they did the movie and then didn't follow it up right away with the series. Maybe the writers put a stop to that.
