| | | Google Street View is amazing Have any of you been looking at Google Maps' Street View? It was released a year ago, and more cities and areas are being added. Google just added a ton more stuff today. Quote:
To celebrate Street View's one year birthday, I am very happy to announce we are bringing Street View to 37 (you heard me - 37!) new areas and we have expanded coverage in 15 of our existing areas. All in all, this effectively doubles our coverage. The new cities include:
* MA: Springfield
* NY: Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse
* NJ: Newark
* VA: Virginia Beach
* NC: Charlotte, Winston-Salem
* SC: Columbia, Greenville
* GA: Atlanta
* FL: Boca Raton, Cape Coral, Ft. Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Sarasota, West Palm Beach
* AL: Huntsville
* MS: Jackson
* TN: Knoxville
* KY: Lexington, Louisville
* OH: Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo
* MI: Ann Arbor
* MO: St. Louis
* KS: Topeka
* NE: Lincoln
* OK: Oklahoma City, Tulsa
* NV: Reno
* CA: Bakersfield, Fresno, Sacramento, Stockton
Along with showing you some great metropolitan areas, I'm especially excited that we're also bringing you 10 new parks and recreational areas:
* Everglades National Park (Florida)
* Florida Keys
* Grand Teton National Park (Wyoming)
* Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming/Montana)
* Rocky Mountain National Park (Colorado)
* Joshua Tree National Park (California)
* Death Valley National Park (California)
* Lassen Volcanic National Park (California)
* Sequoia National Park (California)
* Lake Tahoe (California/Nevada)
And last but not least, Street View coverage has expanded in 15 of our current areas: Boise, Boston, Kansas City, Miami, Nashville, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, Richmond, San Diego, San Francisco, Tampa, and Tucson.
We've also been spending the past year working very hard to improve Street View image quality. In this push, we removed some of our oldest images, so say goodbye to odd coloring and funky geometric artifacts. The new images have better color and more consistent lighting.

So check out your city! Find your home or car. I found my old apartment in Tucson, and my brother's car is there. It's hard to see, but I believe that's it. I also found my grandpa's house, aunt's house, uncle's house and my cousin's house. It's really neat.
I also found people sitting in Kennywood's Screamin' Swing ready to ride or ready to exit. Here.
Show off your cool finds.
To see Google Street View, go to http://maps.google.com and click on Street View. It's only in select cities in the U.S., so yours may not be there yet.

| | | Looking in the Philly metro area I believe I found our old Ford Escort in the driveway. We had it sit there for a year before we gave it to charity. It was EAGLES green, I should have spraypainted EAGLES' wings on the doors!

| | | We've had it in Boston (and Melrose) for a few months now.
Its been all over the news here as people have been "spotted" doing things... And people are making a big deal out of it. (Like some MA state worker taking his trash out (OH NO!! NOT THAT!)) - On my street you can see the girl who lives next door on her bike (and shes like 7)

| | | Now I see what you guys are talking about. I am just a few hundred feet of being in the blue area of coverage in the Philly area map. It extends for miles north of the city to burbs but the Delaware River, the state border keeps me out of having that facet. It doesn't cross the river for me.
In Philly the blue lines won't connect to the highly commercialized street my dad's plant is on. I can see the tower of his building but not his car in the parking lot.

| | | I tried a bunch of places in and around Charlotte and most places didn't work and the places that did work they stopped working if you scrolled down the street a little.

Murfreesboro has had a ton of separations from grade crossings like that done more recently. They're not done, either, as they plan on separating the intersection of Old Fort/Memorial and Broad St. |

| | | I just found my house on it.
Though they have the address wrong. Picture was taken very early last spring, or last fall, and was taken on a weekend morning.
