I have over 4500 songs on my iPod. No way I'm going to sit here and list every artist. However, I will say that about 90% of the songs are some form of metal, ranging from death metal to melodic and progressive.

Does it have to be an iPod? I've had an 80gb Zune for about a month now and I've come nowhere near filling it up. I've got 394 songs and 28 videos so far on it. Most of the songs are some form of rock, whether it's metal, hard rock, softer rock, whatever. Then I've got a bit of blues, some celtic, and some comedy.

There is no way I'm listing 400 songs.
I'll just say that I got all 3 lostprophets albums, about half of 30 Seconds to Mars' first album and their entire 2nd one, plenty of Jakalope, a good deal of Weird Al, and lots of random songs by different artists and singers.

Woo, seen them all live.. and Take This To Your Grave is one of my favorite albums ever.

I'd add to this topic.. But I lack an iPod. I had a 60gig Zen Xtra for 4 years... But it broke back in May... So I got an 80gig Zune :|

I have 500 songs (+/- a few), with about 95% rock, and the rest Weird Al and Jazz (all of my jazz is from my trombone teacher, so they all have trombone sols in them. I want more, but haven't gotten around to getting any). My rock music ranges from 80's Ballads to modern hard rock. No death metal. My favorite band is probably Weird Al, though I love Journey, Aerosmith, and Boston, too.
When I think about it, though I normally open the Pandora Radio app on my iTouch and listen to stuff from that.

I don't own a mp3 device yet. I only use the music player on my Motorola Rizer phone. I just use the 2GB micro card I updated it with and add my bluetooth stereo headphones.

Mine's mostly Rock and Roll. Good stuff- older metal, lots of good classic 60's-80's stuff. A lot of good Rockabilly: Cats, Setzer, Lee Rocker, Starkweather boys, the Rev. A TON of great guitar players in various genres: Satriani, Eric Johnson, Tommy Emmanuel, and mostly Chet. A nearly complete Buffett discography. Some good country, and some REAL country (bluegrass)

And, of course, I have the world's first "grasscore" band: Uncle ****er

Psh. Ipod.

my Zune has 3,500 songs on it. I tried to find a way to copy and past the artists onto here, but I seem to be failing. If anyone knows of a way I could then I'd love to hear it. there is no way I'm typing 154 artists onto here.

iTunes doesn't read WMA files, as WMA is a Windows proprietary format. You'll need to find a 3rd party converting software. There's some free ones out there, all you have to do is look.

What operating system are you using?

Vista... I think iTunes said something about being able to convert to AAC format? I'm not real sure about that though.

AAC is what iTunes uses, its essentially a "MP4" format. It sounds fine and uses up less space, but it kind of sucks if you want to burn a MP3 CD.
