| | | Fireproof (movie) Not sure if any of you ever heard of Facing The Giants (which was a great movie from 2 years ago), but the makers of Facing The Giants have a new movie out today called Fireproof.
Kirk Cameron is the lead, and no he doesn't act like Mike Sever anymore. lol
Check it out at Fireproof.
Anyone planning to see it? I saw a sneak peek of it 9/8, but plan to see it again tomorrow.

| | | Well it looks like it could be an intresting movie. Not something i'd rush out to see cause i was starting to get bored just watching the preview. I had never even heard of the first movie you mentioned let alone this one.
Looks like a chick flick.

| | | The trailer doesn't really do it justice. The movie is very funny, and has something for guys and girls in it.

| | | Um, I'm sorry, but Facing the Giants was laughably bad. It's like it was written by a five-year-old. This one looks no better.
Not to mention the shameless fringe-Christian message. I'm not saying that a movie with a Christian message can't be good, it just hasn't really happened yet...

| | | Ah, that's right. if there's a Christian message it's "shameless" and "fringe." I keep forgetting that Christians do not have any rights to expression.
I'll catch it next week.

| | | I saw the preview the other day during Dr. Phil. He had Kirk Cameron on and showed a few parts of the movie. It looked great to me, Christian message or not. Chick flicks are good movies guys, they might be too sappy for you to handle, but you all should man up and watch some of them.

| | | That's the thing is that only a very few times did it ever free like a Lifetime movie to me. It's about things that are difficult in life, but they keep it from falling into melodrama chick-flick territory. Like I said before, it's a very funny movie. Or at least I think so.
And please don't feel like you (anyone, not talking to Katie) have to agree with me on this or I'm trying to force this down your throat, but people talk about movies on TN all the time that I don't like, I just leave it as is and don't bother people. If I don't like it, I usually just go on to another thread.

| | | I love alot of Chick Flicks. I make it a point to see atleast 2 a year if they look good.
My BF's parents went to see it and i asked what they thought and they went on for about 30 min on how good it was so maybe i'll go check it out. I have alot of free time now with nothing to do so maybe i'll catch up on movies at the theatre.

| | | I just saw it for the 2nd time and I think I like it even more. The first 30 minutes you're going to think, why did I come to this? But stick with it, it's a good story and ending.

| | | It's funny cause movies that start out slow in the first 30min i always wind up enjoying.

| | | I saw this listed in my local paper, but I'd never heard about it.
Having looked at the preview, I thought: "Hey, this could be pretty good." Then I got to the end. I heard the voiceover guy. I thought: "Nope."

| Also note that I am Christian and that I am expressing myself. This guy is a fringe Christian who is expressing himself and his movies absolutely suck. I'm sorry, but the writing is not excusable. We even watched Facing the Giants at my youth group and nobody liked it. I like a lot of chick flicks. These are not chick flicks in any way, shape, or form, unless your definition of a chick flick is a movie with worse writing than Spongebob Squarepants.
[not trying to force anything down your throat, either, of course, but I don't see how a person could get past the writing (or acting, for that matter)]

| | | ^ I did read your post. That's where I got the words "shameless" and "fringe." Apparently I misinterpreted exactly what you meant. My apologies, sir.
