Friday The 13th Remake

Ok so i saw the preview for the movie durring one of the games sunday and that was the first i had ever heard of the remake.

The movie is being released Friday, Feb 13th.
Friday the 13th (2009)

Anyone else heard about the film or anyone intrested. I grew up watching Jason so i am a die hard fan and unlike the last 5-6 films this one really looks good.

The problem with remaking Friday the 13th is that everybody knows the ending.
There's not going to be any mystery or suspense about finding out who the real killer is.

Very true. What is the deal with all the remakes anyway? First Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Then Halloween and Now Friday The 13th and in 2010 Nightmare on Elm Street remake is being released.

Is Hollywood out of ideas for horror films. Next we'll see a Scream remake.

I watched the trailers on the official site and it does look very intresting and being a big fan i will go see it.

It would have been nice if Kane Hodder would have played Jason.

Not to mention the My Bloody Valentine remake(in 3D).I'd also imagine a Hellraiser remake, considering how popular gorefests have been recently.

While we already know the ending, I'll still probably see it just because I liked the first one and haven't really seen a good slasher in a while.

I had no idea My Bloody Valentine was a remake.

Hollywood has run out of ideas and horror movies are cheap to make.

Both of those are reasons.

They should have waited until 2010 to release it, as that is the 30th anniversary of the original. Maybe because the first was set in 1979, they released it this year. Who knows.

I guess they decided on this year so it would not compete with Freddy.

Ya, I saw the teaser trailer a few months ago.

Can't wait to see how it'll turn out. Michael Bay's reboot of horror franchises have been pretty good and successful thus far (Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Amityville Horror)

Slightly off topic, I was reading out on imdb.com and apparantly My Bloody Valentine (the original) was so full of gore and blood and such that they cut like 9 minutes out of it before it could be passed for the theaters. Now there is some big battle to get that footage back and issue a director's cut version.

My Bloody Valentine is not a remake of the original film. It begans near the end of the original and fast forwards 10 years. The added depth of 3-D makes it watchable.

I love horror movies so as long as the remakes, reissues, whatever, are good and fun to watch, I don't mind. I'm really excited about Friday the 13th and I'll also soon be seeing My Bloody Valentine. I'm not sure how I feel about the new Nightmare on Elm Street since I really like Robert Englund as Freddy. I don't know if anyone will be able to do the job.
