| Where the Wild Things Are
Who here can honestly say that they did not read this book at least once during their childhood and did not at least like it a little bit? The book is finally being made into a movie, and personally, I can't wait for it. Apple - Movie Trailers - Where the Wild Things Are

Ah wow! Oh the memories. *Watches trailer* Looks decent. I'll prolly take a look just for ol' memories sake. Great song choice for the trailer too. Arcade Fire has been on my iPod for a couple months now.

I read this book all the time when I was little, but I'm not sure how they extended it into a full movie. They would've had to add so much story, that it's really not the book any more. I am glad though to see that they went with real costumes and puppets rather than stupid CG. It gives it a Labyrinth type feel, which is good.

The movie looks fantastic. I love that the monsters look like plush dolls and not more realistic.

I saw the Trailer about a month ago. I do like that the Monsters are Mechanical effects and not computer generated. I do see the plush toy reference and I think it works well with the characters.

So, I just got back from the movie. It wasn't bad, but I didn't think it was great either. I guess it's just hard to take a short book that's mostly pictures and turn it into a movie. The monsters looked really good and there were a few laughs, but it wasn't completely what I was expecting. I'd give a 3, maybe 3.5 out of 5.

Thanks Ryan, you've saved me from wasting my money on it. I'll probably wait till the dollar theater and see it. I seem to remember reading it in school, but that was 30 years ago. Wow, I'm getting old.
