Your Favorite Michael Jackson Song

Yeah, I know you've heard about it a thousand times today, but let's discuss the thing that made Michael Jackson great: His music.

I put together a poll of all his top hits (There's a ton of them). Vote for whichever one you think is best!

Mine is: Billie Jean.

This is my answer.

I remember dancing to that song as a kid while it played on my dad's old giant sound system.

I voted for Smooth Criminal. I always liked that song a lot and of those listed, it's my favorite and Thriller is right up there. Another one I liked a lot is "Remember The Time" and there's a few others not listed that I really liked but can't remember their names off the top of my head.

Edit, I forgot to mention Man In The Mirror which was listed. There's another one that I believe was on his double CD that came out in the mid 90's (96?). I want to say it had "stranger" in the title of the song I'm thinking. I also liked the song "Scream" from that album.

Billie Jean but a close 2nd is human nature and of course Thriller. I could make a top 25 of Jackson songs and listen to them all day and not get tired of it due to the wide range of music he created...

Featuring Michael Jackson in the background I like the 90's jam by SWV - Love Will Be Right Here.

Billie Jean. And as one that was alive during the frenzy that followed Thriller's (the album) success you really have no idea how huge Michael was at one time. As much as the media hyped him forever through the trials, it still didn't touch what it was like back then.

It's only a few artists that have influenced society with a new dance, new fashion and music that was like nothing else on the radio.

Michael was probably the first artist of my generation that finally crossed over the color barrier. When I was a kid, there was still the whole black and white thing with music. But Michael's music broke all that down, and white kids that would never have bought a black artist's album, went out and bought Thriller.

Wes, good point about Michael Jackson crossing the color barrier. It would take almost a decade until a white artist like Vanilla Ice would cross over and sell records to black people with his street cred. So Michael Jackson was definitely someone that broke barriers since he did it before most anyone else.

I'd say Jackson was probably the most important musical artist ever.

My top 10 artists of musical importance.

1. Michael Jackson
2. Elvis Presley
3. Vanilla Ice
4. Clay Aiken
5. Backstreet Boys
6. Britney Spears
7. Milli Vanilli
8. N Sync
9. Rick Astley
10. Frank Stallone

Clay Aiken is important? Cool, didn't know that, aha.

I voted Smooth Criminal, but every single one of those songs come in so close behind it. They're all amazing.

Yes actually. I had totally forgotten to mention MC Hammer, Gerardo along with Jessica Simpson. Any list without them among great musical artists cannot be taken seriously.

I was born on August 29th, 1985 and found out at a young age that I shared the same birth date as Michael Jackson. I pretty much owned Dangerous the day it came out because of my persistent whining to hear Black and White ALL THE TIME. Thankfully, my parents bought it for me.

I've probably heard that song a thousand times but I still love it just the same.

Dangerous as a whole is an amazing album, so freakin' up beat. Songs like Jam, Dangerous, In the Closet, Will You be There, and of course Black and White are some of my favorite Michael songs. Not to mention the numerous other albums and singles before that (many of which aren't even in the poll). Saw him dancing on MTV and at the Super Bowl, and pretty much knew there was nobody better at what he did.

I've never really been ashamed to admit that I've always loved Michael Jackson as an artist and entertainer, he's by far my favorite. His dance skills were unmatched, and the way he sang, god damn it had so much passion it almost makes me shed a tear. Greatest singer and dancer hands down in my book. Watch his moves, they're ****ing PERFECT every time. He bled perfection.

But I will say it was a damn shame the way his life was the past decade and a half, and he really had nobody to blame but himself for how it happened. His poor kids are never going to really know who he was, and neither is the world.

I haven't really talked about him at all since Thursday with friends or anything, because I'm the kind of guy that just accepts how things are, and that you have to live with it. Mourning really gets you nowhere.

This is my dedication and my good bye to Michael Jackson in hopes that he is now in a better place.

Michael, if only you could have felt the love we all had for you, a direct reflection of the love you had for us.

RIP Michael Jackson August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009

I wouldn't say that. Anyone subject to a life of being relentlessly hounded by the media since they were a CHILD is bound to develop some problems.

He became a really strange person, but nobody stepped in to help. Instead, the media and everyone else just relentlessly ridiculed him. I think thats one reason this has received so much attention and way more sympathy from most people (who are smart enough to not be like OMGOMG ONE LESS PEDOPHILE LOL!!1) - its like everyone realised... "oh crap, we took it too far." Its like what we thought was going to happen to Britney Spears before she turned her life around or whatever.

Yep, the tabloids and media didn't exactly catch the message of this song:

Dude, we get it. You have nothing to contribute to this thread. All you're doing is basically putting a beacon above your head saying: "I can't actually appreciate Jackson for the things he has done for our generation, just the losses."

Honestly, just stop posting in this thread if all your bring is negativity and slight instances of witty sarcasm dating back to the whole "Whacko sleeps with lil' boys!" thing. He's dead, he's gone, you don't need to worry about that anymore. Instead, shut up and stop posting, or enjoy his damn music.

Look, I was just making a simple comparison. I wasn't tying my last statement directly to Jackson saying he was a rapist... I was comparing the media and the subject of "Leave me alone" to how a rapist would behave. If anything, my statement was Pro-Jackson in regards to your post... and in fact, pro-hounded celebrity.

I have no idea what's crawled up your butt lately. If you have a beef with me, you know damn well to take it up with me personally.

Well I wasn't quite sure what exactly your post meant, but looking at your previous post I thought its intentions were to bash Jackson.

My post is more of a blanket statement and how I'm tired of hearing people nearly praising his death because of his allocations of child molestation and how he was a wierdo.

I'll add in my 2 cents, then I'll add directly to the thread.

First...what innocent person pays someone off at a tune of $22 million?

Second...My favorite Michael Jackson song is one that hasn't been grossly overplayed since Thursday, June 25, 2009.

And Kyle, I think you mean Allegations, not allocations.

Edit #2: Darren (Raptor), I heard that several people stepped in to help Michael, especially in the last 15 years or so. Most of his siblings stepped forward to help cure him of his drug abuse...but he wouldn't have any part of it. I guess in a way, he became our generation's Elvis Presley (who died 4 days before I was born).

On the whole issue of the supposed child fondlings, after the first tie it happened, why would any parent be willing to send their children over to his place and stay...How many parents actually heard about the settlement and thought " hey, I bet we could get some money out of this" There is little doubt he had issues, but there were a lot of people feeding the problem...In the court of law, he was never convicted, so if he ever did do anything, he has to answer to the man upstairs now, and HE is more than able to make sentence for him...

Having said all that though, he had a real musical talent, of which was better than of atleast 90% of todays singers.

This is a slightly conventional list...
