Zombieland The Movie

It looks like this movie has more of an amusement park footage tie in than Adventureland. On some commercials it's cool to see Woody Harrelson with a rifle on a Galaxi or Wildcat coaster. There's more of the coaster in this bottom one. There is a swinging Huss Frisbee about to cross the path of our characters. Looks like there is a S&S tower and boomerang coaster as well where ever they shot the film.

I think having an amusement park in the movie is a nice touch but for me, I have one reason for seeing this movie- zombies.

The amusement park scene's are from Wild Adventures in Valdosta, GA. On a side note they filmed the grocery store scene in Powder Springs, GA which is only 10 minutes from my house.

I wonder: if it turns out that there's only 10min of theme park footage in it, will everyone on the boards (and other coaster boards) cry about it like they did with Adventureland?

That's a rhetorical question, we all know the answer is yes.

Anyways, this movie actually looks pretty good. I always love a zombie movie, so I might end up seeing this.

I know people that actually look like the zombies in real life. Real bums.

I have to check out that park footage again to see the colors of the boomerang. Wild Adventures is isolated enough to allow for a movie filming.

Who cares about the amusement park? It's left Left 4 Dead turned into a movie, so I'm in 100%!

...not everyone. I think the amusement park is just an added bonus. I'll be seeing for the zombies.

I think the reason people have been disappointed about Adventureland is that the movie was set at an amusement park, even named after one but yet didn't have a lot of footage it sounds like. I don't think anyone should go to see this movie because they think it's going to entirely focused on the amusement park.

I just got saw it. OMG it was hilarious. I loved it.

The amusement park footage isn't until the end, but it's probably 20-30 minutes of the movie. The rides are the main focus of a lot of it, too, and it is really funny. The only quip I have is that in one scene, two Vekoma boomerangs are clearly visible in the same shot.

The rest of the movie is great as well. It would be an awesome movie without the amusement park. Really, really good.

That looked like some generated footage of Sidewinder or Scorpion, the Frisbee going at them. That's the model from Wild Wild West World. It would get much more attention than the actual real park it was first in.

If they double up the Boomerang for the film then it would look more like SFOG's Ninja probably. Compact, loopy, death machine like.

^No, I mean literally two separate Boomerangs. One is in the foreground and the other one is off in the distance. It's nothing any GP would ever pick up on, simply because they are at different angles, but it's just funny that they stuck that extra one in there.

Just got back from seeing Zombieland. One thing that stuck out , Pacific Playland was actualy........

Wild Adventures in Valdosta Georgia! I thought it was nice to see our local theme park in a film. "Blast Off" was really the Doubleshot, The Rattler and Aviator are seen, their id sign wasn't so I doubt they made alt names for them. Bug-Out I think had a name change, but later you can clearly see the "Bug Out" sign. Background rides include the Boomerang ( yellow coaster, seen several times), Cheetah( the Wooden Lift hill seen a few times, Hangman ( tall orange coaster seen maybe twice) and a quick fly by of Ant Farm Express's trains( they look like roller skates, despite the name).

Rides more prominently featured are the Bug Out (an action scene filmed on it, included in the second trailer) Rattler( in several chase scenes, plus the ride itself scored a zombie kill), Doubleshot as Blast Off,the Swinging Ship, and Aviator (short action scene).

Other giveaways were the lake in the middle of the park, and the layout of the rides in the wide angle shots.

Interesting On the two Boomerangs. I didn't notice that.

I saw this movie a week ago. It took me a while, which bothered me, but I too came up with the same conclusion of Wild Adventures! What threw me off was the fact that due to me small amount of knowledge of the park, I only knew about the animal section and did not know it had a section like a boardwalk!

The boardwalk wraps around the lake in the middle of the park.

I wonder if CF wouldn't have put the kabosh on GL, could this movie had been filmed there? With the lake, the wildlife section and the creepy twisted walkways (you only find them creepy if you were there when the lights went out). This could have been a good place for a creepy movie...

The wildlife was gone before the waterpark came though. I was looking at the print ad. Do they say "Gun up or shut up" in the film? I heard another good review from my friend. Maybe after my next payday I'll go.

There was a top 10 waterpark on the other side of the lake. As well as a top 10 childrens area. This park could have been great if someone like Dollywood's owners would have bought it...

^^"NUT up or shut up," yes, a lot.

I actually thought it looked kind of like SFNO a lot of the time (except not, you know, trash-ridden and unkempt and depressing), but that obviously couldn't have been. I worked out Wild Adventures when I saw it on the IMDB page like normal people. :-D

The scene is during the day and from the outside of the park. I think it may be the first time we see it as the audience. Yep, one boomerang center stage taking in the spotlight and another one hanging out up left.

I remember one outside shot that looked like a different park altogether, even seeing a white colored steel coaster and a woodie that had a more Cyclone-like layout instead of the Cheetah. Then in other scenes, it was clearly Wild Adventures. I think they filmed in Atlanta as well so maybe there was a exterior shot of SFoG thrown in which could explain that shot of a different park.

I finally saw the movie yesterday with my girlfriend.
We were both killing ourselves laughing through so many parts. It was one of the better comedies this year.
The part with BM was priceless.

Got a chance to see Zombie land. loved it funny as hell, which I didn't expect. The scene with Sidewinder killing the zombies was great, definitely the zombie kill of the week! I actually did could the amusement park better represented and talked about more in teh movie then Adventurland which I was completely disappointed in. If you like zombies this is a great movie, if you like parks it's a good movie and if you like to laugh it's also a good movie.

I give it 5 out of 5 Twinkies.

My favorite scene was the "Bug-Out Zombie Shoot" scene. I'll never look at Bug-Out the same way again!

I read that Zombieland is one of the most pirated movies right now.
The producer for the movie has stated that if that doesn't stop he sees no point in making a sequel.

I hope people stop downloading this movie.

I just saw the movie. I loved it. I was cracking up through most of it. "Snowballs!?!?!" "Nut up or shut up." It makes sense for me this month that I am see Bill Murray in this film since I just saw his sister, a nun, in a play at my church. Basically the rides they rode were the ones I was on. Hangman and Cheetah were closed for me. I wish my Bug Out cycle was as fun as in this movie, riding with a shotgun and zombies crawling all over the structure. Woodie got on during a MCBR and later they showed him going through the top half. On Rattler did you guys notice the floor was up? It needed to be up for the main character to run across through the swing, good ole CGI. The gondola of course doesn't have that much hangtime and with its diameter the loading floor has to lower for the gondola to clear the pit in swinging.
