Super Smash Bros. Melee

this is the best game i have ever played. It kicks the original harder than a togo stand up. So far i have young link, marth and jigglypuff. I hope luigi is a hidden charachter cz he is my favourite. I liek the trophy idea..there are over 300!! I liek how all the players have an extra b movt too. The only bvad thing is the ice climbers. They suck realllllllllllllly bad.

Thanks for the review, i was thinking of getting SSBM but i wasnt sure until i heard someones opinion about it, but you sound confident and enthusiastic, so it sounds like a game worth buying.

Here's a list of all of the unlockable characters:

Jigglypuff
Luigi
Young Link
Dr. Mario
Ganondorf
Pichu
Marth
Roy
Falco
Mewtwo
Mr. Game & Watch

There may be more. My list comes from Planet GameCube, so it may still be incomplete. Somewhere it mentions having 25 unlockable characters, but it may be talking about 25 characters total.

For the one asking if Luigi is an unlockable character the answer is obviously yes, and he is actually really easy to unlock. Just finish the first level of adventure mode with the number 2 in the seconds spot (the time should look like this xx:x2:xx), Luigi will then appear in the next battle. Finish adventure mode and then beat Luigi when he appears after the credits (warning: he isn't the easiest guy to beat). If you want a list of all of the secrets in SSB:M I suggest you check out www.planetgamecube.com. And, yes I also think this game is excellent, and I can't stop playing it. Pichachu is kicking everyone's butt!!!

I have Super Smash Bros. Melee. To be honest I was not terribly impressed with it when I first played it by myself. It was fun, but not a very engrossing game in my opinion. Then I played it with some friends and it was MUCH better. I still think it's over-hyped, but its worth picking up. I had never played the original, so I didn't know what I was getting into, but if you liked the original then you will most likely love this game.

There are a lot of arenas and characters to unlock, and the arenas themselves are worthwhile for old school gamers, but its definately a multi player game. Don't get it expecting a terrific single player game, although it is decent in that regard.

I dont have SSBM yet. I think I am getting it for Christmas. I rented it, and unlocked Jigglypuff and Ganondorf. There are alot more things to do in melee. I think it is better than the first.

Very, Very good game. There is a wide variety of special moves, and the controls are really natural (like pressing foreward on the control stick and hitting a button to do a foreward attack). There are also 11 hidden characters! There are plenty of options, so it's not a "beat-it-and-you're-done" kind of game.

I suggest anyone with a GameCube buy this game!

I don't have it, but will probably be getting it in May for my birthday. However, I played it today at school, and it was awesome. My friend brought his gamecube, and we had a four-way match. He kicked my arse, but I fell in love with that game.

SSBM rocks! I've already unlocked all the secret characters and levels. Some of those levels they have are simply amazing, like that one when you're playing on that rock and the monster keeps turning it. It's a really good game.

Thumbs up

One of my Japanese friends got it the day it came out in Los Angeles because they were all sold our here. The game was incredible. He liked it so much he had unlocked every character within 2 days and every stage within a week. It's a must-get game.

Thank YOU!!!!!!! I went out and bought it for myslef and holy chips!!!!!!!!! I knew it would be good, but this game just took me by suprize. There so much more you can do compared to the 64 SSB. And the graphics are not even funny their so realistic. And theres so many battle arenas it boggles the mind. Thank again.

Talking

A friend of mine has it and I must say, this game kicks @$$! It must be hundreds times better than the first one and it has that many more levels, options, and characters. This is a must for all game cube owners!
