Metroid Prime and Fusion

So, any thoughts? Getting Prime? Fusion? Both?

I'm a huge, huge Metroid fan, so I'm super excited. Metroid Fusion is getting excellent reviews, and some are comparing Metroid Prime to Halo.

I'm definitely getting Metroid Prime. I may also get Fusion, but I haven't decided yet.

Circuit City has a special deal where if you buy a platinum GameCube, you get $20 off of Metroid Prime, and you also get a $25 gift card. That means that if you buy the platinum GCN and Metroid Prime, you can get Fusion for $.99 (regularly $25.99)

Wasn't a huge deal?!?! I wouldn't exactly call being able to unlock the original Metroid game in Prime with the GBA link "not a huge deal". That is possibly the best extra added using the link cable. There's also the ability to upload Samus' suit in Fusion into Prime which isn't as great as the original Metroid, but still very cool.

Oooooooo! I'm going to get Metroid Prime! I've been looking forward to this game since they first announced it...and that was a long time ago.

Quick impressions. The game is very very cool. I'm not having a ton of fun yet, but it's definitely cool and draws you in to the story (assuming you scan a lot of things.) The art design is fantastic. The sound is fantastic. At this point it's more like a really great tech demo, but I've only put about 1 hour into the game.

I'd also like to give some quick impressions. I'm about 2 hours into the game now......and it is absolutely phenominal. It oozes classic Metroid gameplay with a brilliant 3D update. Half the time I forget I'm in 1st person view. The level design is brilliant. The boss battles are absolutely classic. The control is surprisingly easy to adjust to, even the jumping is smooth. I was worried that not enough platforming aspects would be included in the game, but they are there in full force and done extremely well. The graphics/art design are mind-blowing. I've almost cleared the entire Chozo ruins area (need that darn spider ball), and I'm having the most fun you could possibly have with a game. So far I'd say it's the best game I've played all year. I'll keep everyone updated if my opinions on the game change at all as I progress.

I'm 7 1/2 hours into the game. It is the best first 7 1/2 hours in any game I have ever played. This is not just a FPS with Metroid settings and characters, THIS IS METROID.

I've cleared all of the Chozo ruins, and most of Phendrana Drifts and Magmoor Caverns. I have 2 artifacts, but I know the exact locations of 3 others.

Fusion is almost as good as Prime. It's like they made the game in 1994, right after Super Metroid, and just waited 8 years to release. It's just like Super Metroid, from the area design to the attacks to the great boss fights. Heck, even Drachoras and the Etecoons are in this one!
The game is great during the first half, but the plot really starts to get really good during the second half, after all 6 of the sectors have been cleared.

Metroind Prime is AWESOME! I love this game, I rented it friday (the first day it was available to rent) and have been playing it since then (not too long though) Anyways, it's kind of hard, challenging, fun, good graphics, awesome environments, and cool enemies. I definately recommend this game to anyone.

I got it today and cleared the Space Pirate ship section jsut to see what it was like before i had other things to do. But it was a very fun level. Everything looks great and sounds great. I think the only control aspect i have a problem with is scanning with L. I keep wanting to push A and it gets me outta scan. And i like some of the things that challenge you to think, like the metal sphere unlocking thing. I went back through 1/2 of the level to find that thing and then accidentally turned into the morphball, and it hit me. Great game.

I have only played the demo for prime, and have played Fusion up till the time you enter sector 1. Both games look fabulous. The controls are extremely easy to learn. The visuals in prime are breath-taking, and set a great mood for the game. You always feel like just behind that next door will be some ungodly creature ready to put a major dent in your life energy, but you can never know for sure until you open the door and take the chance.

Fusion has a wonderful story line and is much harder than i thought it would be. I like the idea that the villians are duplicates of their actual self and there is always some weakness you have to find before you can defeat them. I hope to rent prime very soon.

I've rented Prime and am up to the metroid prime. This is a hard boss. Im going to find more missle packs. Last time I ran out of missiles. It was a sorry sight to behold. Ive gotten to the Metroid prime core once. The only other other thing I can say is be well prepared before you meet Prime.

Please try to keep spoilers to a minimum. There are those who probably have not gotten to the end boss yet.
