Texas Country

Have anyone of yall heard or listen to texas country. That is some good stuff. Like Pat Green, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jason Boland and Willie Nelson. Pat Green has some really good songs out. Like Wave On Wave on Guy Like Me. Cross Canadian Ragweed has a new cd coming out on March 9th and i wanna get it so bad. If you haven't heard texas country music i suggest u listen to it cause it is some good stuff to listen to. I know many people hate country. But I think it is the best.

Out of all those, I've only heard of Willie Nelson, but then again, many Californians, especially in Santa Barbara, loathe country music in all forms. Willie's songs (the few I've heard) aren't that bad, I guess, but on a whole I can't stand country, be it from Texas or anywhere else.

My taste in country runs more to older stuff, like Box Car Willie and Bob Wills and such.

I've heard of Willie, but no one else on your list. If those others say "y'all" in every other sentence, then I don't want to know who they are either.

Well I haven't heard Pat Green or Cross Canadian Ragweed use Yall in any of there song but if they use it i don't see a problem. Texas people are not hicks or rednecks like people think we are. Everytime people here YALL they think of Texas. We'll We got use Yall around here. YALL got that lol i don't use that word i just felt like it. Well back to the point here is a link to there websites if yall wanna check them out. http://patgreen.com I don't think Pat Green is Texas Country anymore cause his lastes albulm didn't even had one song bout texas on it. His previous had about like Southbond 35, Texas on My Mind. He maybe be Regular country and Texas Country http://patgreen.com/biointerior.html well hope yall look at this.

Are you surprised?

List some other Texas Country singers and maybe that will rejuvenate this thread.

Willie Nelson did a concert in my small-Eastex town (11,000 pop.) Saturday, and yeah, it was a big deal... sort of.

I don't listen to country (or Texas country specifically), but I don't mind it- I actually do prefer it to rock or rap...

Well last friday i went to the Cross Canadian Ragweed concert in Stockdale, Texas. It was awesome. It was my first CCR concert. IT was rather short tho cause there was a curfie (spelling) there. Which was midnight. So they still played some good songs. But they didn't play Alabama 17 or Band My Head. Maybe i will catch them again.

It's been a while since the last post in this thread, so has anyone heard of any of these bands lately?

I live in Texas and i really don't like country all the much. Well, i don't like mainstream county, but Texas Country is fun! It gets me in a good mood and its so great live. It's one of the best atmospheres a place can have. Good ol' Tx Country band playing live out in the country somewhere... that's the best! I love Texas...

Same here, and actually I'm not a fan of country music at all.

I suppose I might get into it for A BIT if I were at a country club (boots and ten gallon hats) and we were into that whole "country" spirit. On a normal day however, I don't think I could stand it.
