I am an FF fan so Final Fantasy is always my fav's. I still like the story itself for number 7 better than 8 and 9 though 8 and 9 have the nicer CG and music. I am also a Breath of Fire fan. Well lets just say, just about any RPG strikes my fancy. And of course, Rollercoaster Tycoon and Pharoah.

OK, you want scary? When I was visiting my dad last week we actually pulled our old Atari 2600 out of the closet and hooked it up again. Man it was fun. I forgot how much fun I used to have playing all the games on it: Combat; Warlords; Space Invaders (go on forever once you knew the pattern); Pinball; Breakout, and a bunch of others.

Some of those definatly had some great gameplay- something many games today lack. But then there are some that are really good now to- AoEII, RCT, and the Sims come to mind.
Amen brother! Half-Life is my favorite game of all time (as you can see from my sig). Great storyline, great gamepley, and a really creepy feel. It's a very immersive game, you feel as though you are Gordon Freeman. The only area that it is really lacking is graphics, and I can't wait to get my hands of Blue Shift for the HD pack that will update them.

Guess I'm just an old fogey but here are my faves:

Apple IIe: Mystery House, Russki Duck, Beer Run, Hard Hack Mack, Karateka, Snoggle (most difficult Pac Man clone ever!!!), Snack Attack, Dung Beetles, Jawbreaker II, Cubit, Cricketeer, Bug Attack, Sneakers, Wavy Navy, Evolution, Swashbuckler, Aztec, Apple Panic, Miner 2049er, Conan, Zany Golf (IIgs), Montezuma's Revenge [yes I can hear people saying oh my god! I remember those!!!]

PC: Rollercoaster Tycoon, Zork, Sim City2k, Transport Tycoon, MS Flight Simulator, Kings Quest series, Leisure Suit Larry Series, Zany Golf, Colonel's Bequest, Sim Tower, ZZT, World Tour Golf, and a bunch of shareware titles I forgot.

Genesis: Aerobiz, Sword of Vermillion, Kings Bounty, Warriors of the Eternal Sun, Countdown to Doomsday, Starflight, Strider, Centurion,

SNES: Aerobiz Supersonic, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 3

NES: Legend of Zelda (still the best in the series IMO), Gumshoe, Deadly Towers (yes I know this sucked, but I enjoyed it), Shadowgate, Bionic Commando, Castlevania, Rygar, Guardian Legend, Golgo13, Mega Man 1, Metal Gear, Metroid, Kid Icarus, Maniac Mansion, Ultima: Exodus, Ultima: Avatar, Faxanadu, and a few others which escape my mind

Atari 2600: Too many to list!

Atari Jaguar (am I the only person who ever played this thing?): Theme Park (the best one of the console game versions IMO)

Yep, I'm old, the only playstation game I can remember playing (outside of a trial run of Theme Park) was this horror thing called Clock Tower. I played the Dreamcast but couldn't figure it out. My favorite of the small handhelds was the Atari Lynx (anyone remember those?)

I just bought NBA Street and rented Twisted Metal Black, and they are both really sweet games. Final Fantasy 9 is the best FF game for the PSX, but 6 was the best of all time.

I like arcade video games from the 80s, like Centipede, PacMan (I suck at that though), Millepede (I rule at this), Pole Position, & SkeeBall and things like that.

In my not so humble opinion, there is a three way tie for best video game:

Final Fantasy VI-A fantastic SNES game with an engaging story! This actually might be my favorite!

Metal Gear Solid- Needs no introduction, it's like a Tom Clancy book fused with the best of the what the VG industry can offer. AWESOME! (BTW, the GBC version is the best game there is in its collection, with the possible exception of LoZ: Link's Awakening)

Final Fantasy VII- Made RPG's mainstream. Sent the FF series into the spotlight. A Squaresoft masterpiece.

Oh, another reason these are great games is because of their exceptional villians; the insane Kefka of FF6, Fox-Hound's mysterious members, and lastly Sephiroth...they rank up there with the villains such as Hannibel Lecter, Kats, and TOGO manufacturing.
