| | | Stella Has anybody seen this new show on Comedy Central called Stella? If you havent, you have to watch it, its one of the funniest shows ever. Its humor is sort of Monty Python-ish with its randomocity.
Oh yeah, if you want to watch it, its on Tuesdays at 10:30.
"Why listen to funk rock when we could listen to funk rock?" -Micahel Ian Black, Stella.

| | | Ya, I just watched the first episode, and to be honest, I thought it sucked. It seems like it tries to hard and was way to random to be funny.
Just my opinion though. |

| | | I thought it sucked as well. I hate that type of humor, which is very stupid humor with no plot. Usually I like random humor, but it isn't funny at all.

| | | I thought Stella was funny, but it could use some work. It had some moments that were really stupid and annoying, like they were trying way too hard. It also had really funny stuff in it, too. This show has pretty good potential, and I hope it improves in future episodes.

| | | The "trying too hard" is intentional. If you haven't even figured that out, then you obviously would not like the show. Stella is absurdism at its best. Most of the funniest parts are very subtle, so if you aren't paying attention you won't catch them. It actually requires a more mature sense of humor than it might at first seem. |

| | | Yes, it is like Monty Python except for the fact that Monty Python is horribly unfunny British humor and Stella comes from the hilarious minds of Showalter, Black, and Wain. I can only stand so many skits where the comedy comes from a man in a dress before I have to turn Monty off. and quick. And trying too hard? Well, they've all been in the funny business pretty long and I think they know what they're doing. If you think they are trying to hard then thats your fault and this isn't your kind of humor. Go watch Jimmy Fallon, we all know that guys hilarious. Riiiiight. Anyway, anybody who likes Stella is a poser, I liked those guys all the way when they were on MTV's The State. Okay, your not a poser, I'm just trying to convey that fact that I've been a fan of them for some time. If you can get your hands on a VHS or a DVD of The State, buy it quick. It was a hilarious show. And when that was cancelled, Black and Showalter went on to make one of the funniest movies of all time, Wet Hot American Summer. Directed by Wain. After that, a few The State alumns went on to start an equally hilarious show, Reno 911. The people who play Trudy Weigle and Jim Dangle I know for sure were on The State. Some of the of the others may have as well but I don't recognize them. And now we got Stella. Yes! One question, does naybody know what Stella is supposed to mean? |

| It's the name of their comedy team.
The second episode was equally as hilarious as the first. If you don't like the show, it's really too bad because you are missing out. It's smart, it's subtle, it references a lot of other titles and genres, and it's random as hell. It's corny on purpose. That must be understood. |

| | | Yes, I understand the purpose of the show. It is not above me that the comedy is supposed to be stupid....my problem is, they try too hard to be stupid, and they just end up looking like jackasses. I guess they are pandering to an audience that feels special by saying they "get" the show, and I guess, based on the replies here, that they succeeded.

| | | I saw last night's episode, and hated it again. I just hate that type of humor.
Off topic:
Anyone see Mind of Mencia? I thought it was OK, but a terrible ripoff and filler for Chapelle's Show. I was a fan of Chapelle's Show since the first episode, and am really anxious for the show to get back on track (and Dave to get back from Africa).
