Favorite SNL Alumn of Past 10 Years

I was just wondering if anyone has a favorite SNL castmember from the past ten years. I myself like Will Farrell by a small margin.

I probably like Wil Ferrel, Chris Farley, and Tim Meadows the most. Darrell Hammond does the best impressions by far. I also liked Norm MacDonald and Kevin Nealon on Weekend Update. I've never really like Colin Quinn or David Spade. And Sandler and Fallon just annoy me cause they're constantly laughing during their skits.

I think the shows gone a little downhill since Wil Ferrel left, hopefully they can get some new funny talent and liven up the show again.

Chris Farley gets my vote. They all made me laugh but something about Chris just threw the comedy over the edge and had me laughing for hours. I would always be laughing at some of his shows or movies hours after.

10 years is such a lousy timespan for this thread because the 1994-1995 season (20th anniversary season) was a really sinking, lousy season; the last for Chris Farley, Kevin Nealon, Mike Myers, and Adam Sandler. People left the show, people got fired; it was a clean sweep when the 1995-96 season came along with the newbies Will Farrell, Cheri Oteri, and Molly Shannon. I started watching the show about 12 years ago so I was exposed to the end of the Lovitz, Carvey, and Hartman regime and the beginnings of Myers, Sandler, and Farley. I have much more respect for that group than for the new cast at the beginning of the '95 season and so on. From '95 on I just watched because I loved the show though I could not really catch on to any one castmember. I get bored with the show nowadays but I always catch the Opening theme, the monologue, the cartoon and the first song by the musical act. I was ok with Jim Breuer, Jimmy Fallon, Cheri Oteri, and Chris Kattan. I didn't care about Norm Macdonald at all. I still wouldn't care to buy a "Best Of" dvd for anyone after the '95 season.

If we're talking 10 years, I wouldn't think Rob Schneider would make the poll. I thought he was gone by '94-95 season.

I was going to make a poll for the earlier years after this one was up for a while. You can't compare the earlier years to the newer ones (except for the mid to late 80's, those ones weren't too great either). I thought that since the newer ones have more recently known names, more people would be able to participate.

Are you sure that Schneider left then? And I don't think Farley left the same year as Myers because Myers said to Meadows that he thought Tim left with Farley and Spade. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Definitely Will Ferrell. He is great in every movie I've seen him in. He has such a presence that I can't help but laugh. Adam Sandler is also good but I've seen a couple movies I didn't care for that he was in.

I was confused about the Myers hosting thing. I didn't mean to mess with an SNL guru.

OK "roughly" 10 years, I was off by a few months, but technicly the 94-95 season would be included in the past ten years since the last season was 04-05.

Now back on topic

Shame that you've made the poll too late as to not include Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, two of the three funniest people who used to be on the show (the third is Eddie Murphy).
As for this poll, my votes go to Will Ferrell and Jimmy Fallon. Ferrell has the best diversity of this group in that he's able to be funny regardless of what kind of role he's playing. Fallon gets the vote primarily because of his performances on Weekend Update, which were typically hilarious when he wasn't cracking up every other second.

As i said before, you can't compare the two time periods. The older ones are much better, but I decided to go with the newer ones for now.

For me, it's hands down Chris Farely. He was just so funny and out of the "best-of" dvds I would have to say his is up in the top 2 or 3 becasue they didn't even put in all of his best skits.

I also like Rachel Dratch (Harry Potter and Debbie Downer...wow she's great), Will Ferrel, Molly Shannon, and I like Tina Fey on weekend update.
