i think the new willy wonka is a pretty bad remake, to tell you the truth. i thought johnny depp would be great and tim burton would have so many crazy ideas and a new take on the whole thing, but i was really disappointed. i found the original sooooo much better. the new one is so disjointed somehow. maybe i should start a new thread?

Why does it matter so much that they have changed the gender of The Three Stooges? The Farrelly brothers have every right to alter whatever they desire because, get this, it's their film. They have also clearly demonstrated in the past that when it comes to comedy, they know what they are doing.

Also, if you paid some attention to the the link you posted, you would notice a few conspicous details like "2007", "pre-production", and the fact that there is very little information about the actual film on the page. You have jumped to the conclusion that a) This movie will suck, b) The Farrelly Brothers are stupid and c) this will, in fact, be a straight remake of The Three Stooges but with women as the leads. While some or all of these are possible, the evidence supporting them at the moment is very limited.

However, I wish you the best of luck with the petition to the studio. Honestly. I'm sure once the executives receive it they will realize their folly and immediately cease funding on the project instead of dismissing it like every other angry and irrational petition sent to them.

I didn't say I was involved in the petition. Just that I've heard there is one. And yes I know the movie still has a while to go, but the fact remains that women can't play- in any way shape or form- the Three Stooges. Theres a reason why my mom and sister don't like the stooges, and why my brother, dad and myself do. The Stooges themself had a hard time finding replacements (aka Joe Besser and Curly Joe). I hope this movie bombs so hard.

When I see her name in the credits for ANYTHING, it just screams "unwatchable"
