Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Well being the Potter fan that I am, it's about time we start discussing the new movie.

One surprise besides the new director is the fact that this one got a PG-13! I hope the parent's don't come out and start protesting like they did when Burger King was promoting Fantastic Four because it had a PG-13.

I had never heard of the director Mike Newell, but I have heard of several of his movies.

Never got into the Harry Potter stuff til I finally watched the 3rd movie after my sister had been insisting on it. I had seen 1 and 2 and wasn't impressed. The 3rd movie intrigued me and after seeing all the hullabaloo about the new book, I borrowed them all from my sister. Took me 2 weeks to plow through all 6. Very good. Screw the 4th movie, I need to see the 6th!

I think this movie will be a good one, possibly the best...although the 3rd is hard to follow up.

I'm more interested in seeing how well the director manages to keep the story full and well-rounded while cutting out some of the extra material. Since everything that Rowling writes ties into itself, there's only so much that you can remove before the story starts to fall apart. The third movie came dangerously close to doing that.
This movie also looks like it's going to be a lot more epic then the other ones, and judging by the trailers, the visuals are going to be great. Two things are a little irking though. Krum looks much too old to be someone who's in his late teens, and the maze at the end is much bigger then it ought to be, the whole thing's supposed to fit in the Quidditch stadium.

This is the only book that I was really interested in seeing how it translated on screen, so I'll probably see this. I've only seen parts of 1 and 2, and didn't care for either at all.

I hope this will be the best. Or at least better than 3. *shivers* That one needs to be chopped up and left to die. Anyway, the new trailer is out and can be viewed at http://movies.aol.com/movie_exclusiv...er_goblet_clip

Actually, I read the 5th book, before I read the 4th book. (I thought I had lost my copy, so I went ahead and read the 5th book...) I read the 4th book over the summer, and found it to be my most favorite. But the 5th one came in as a very close second. I'm excited about this movie, and I wonder what it will turn out to be! The trailer looks pretty good.

the third movie wasn't that good. I read in an article that tey cut almost the entire dursely scene from the 4th movie. So I thinkthat mens the movie will start ot at the quidditch world cup...

Hm, PG-13. I want to see how this plans out with familes and such. I can't wait to see how they portray the maze part of the book. From the pictures in the trailers, It looks like it will be pretty cool.

I like it. I enjoy reading the books, and watching the movies. It is just so much different from everything else out there, and it gets to my attention.

The third movie was destroyed. Hagrids hut, along with the whomping willow and the forbidden forest somehow magically changed position over the summer.er, magically ain't the best word, but you know what I mean. It seemed they chopped out far too much than what was supposed to have been in it, to allow people that haven't read the books to understand it. For example, my parents, asked me billions of questions after seeing the movie, It was like the director left out everything.

^ I know. That annoyed me too (moving the position of stuff).

But it was anew director and I guess he had to be "artistic".

I hope the new director doesn't mess with stuff.

I just finished the 6th book. There will be tears at the end of that movie version for sure. Count on it. Not saying who, but it's a major charecter. I guess I should have seen it coming (and in some ways I did).

I haven't seen the 3rd one yet so I'll have to go rent that before I see this one. Other than that the movie looks pretty cool.

Which reminds me, I have yet to read the 6th book, I think I better go pick me up a copy one of these days.

I'm reading it right now and I have to say that even if the events are predictables it's pretty good.

Also I have to say that those books are starting to get a little bit too long.

^ Just wait till you get to the next one (Order of the Phoenix) it is the longest of the 6 and it starts to drag towards the end IMO.

She must have really been on some Red Bull writing that one! lol

Yeah, I don't even think they are at Hogwarts yet in the first 300 pages of the Order of the Phoenix.

^It's still the second best, though.
I'm a huge fan of these books, so I have to join this topic.
I've read them all and I've been at the midnight party for all of them since PoA. I finished PoA before it came out to the American public because I was on vacation over seas. We picked up an English copy in Paris. In my opinion HBP is the best, followed by OotP, then PoA, then SS/PS, then GoF, and finally CoS.
If you didn't understand any of that, I can help.
SS/PS = Sorcerer's Stone/Philosipher's Stone
CoS = Chamber of Secrets
PoA = Prisoner of Azkaban
GoF = Goblet of Fire
OotP = Order of the Phoenix
HBP = Half=Blood Prince

HBP is my favorite. I love the beginning and the many twists and turns of the plot. I was in tears at the end.

Lol, even though I have had to pause my reading of the 6th book because of schoolwork, I have been notified of who dies at least 5 times already.

I hate people who do that. It's so inconsiderate. Like the guy in this video: SPOILER ALERT! Do not look at this video if you do not yet know who dies. http://gprime.net/video.php/pottercrash

Yeah what an a** that guy is. Ruined the book for those many people. You can hear the little kid wail when he shouts it for the last time in the end of the video.

Thats one of the funniest things/ideas ever. People get too into these books. I think this was a true story, that when someone found out the ending he killed himself.

Never read a page in my life except the end of the newest book.
