I knew that last season. I don't watch now though. Kristen and L.C. were mad hot. Now that Kristen's unattractive friend is always featured I'm turned off. Kristen is only as old as my cousin who just started college, younger than the Olsen Twins. I remember them sitting in diapers, so that scares me off, a 24 yr old.

I am not gonna lie I do like this show. I think most of the girls on this show are hot. Some of the stuff is real, some is scripted...why do they script it in the first place anyway?

The acting is horrible? It's not acting. They're not actors. They're real people with real drama. And a lot of people like to say that it's somewhat scripted. It's not. Sure, the editing team at MTV may cut and paste certain filmed segments to make things appear more dramatic than they really are, but the teens on that show aren't given a script or problem to work off on to make the show work.

It is all scripted. You can just tell while watching the show that it's fake. It's pretty much a copy of the O.C. which is a better show with a better story. And just so you know, the actors don't make the storyline. They are just told what do to. I think they don't do a good job acting in Laguna Beach compared to other shows like the O.C., Lost, 24, CSI, i could go on forever.

/\ It's not scripted.

I have a friend that lived a block away from me in the same residential complex last year with Lo from the first season in Isla Vista (UCSB/SBCC), and he talked to her. I've seen her in person myself. She's not an actress. She's a real life high-school student gone college student. It's not scripted in any way and aren't told by the show's producers what to do, say, wear, where to go, or what path of drama to take.

MTV crews were sent out to shoot pilots, and Laguna Beach turned out favorable for production, because 1) the place is beautiful, 2) the people are beautiful, 3) most of them are damn wealthy. And that's what a lot of people want to watch, believe it or not. That's why the show is so popular. People watch that show because it's like watching a fantasy - rea teenaged kids that are wealthy, beautiful, live in a beautiful oceanside city in sunny Southern California, and most importantly, they can afford to have drama because that's how they were raised - to not have a care for anything else in the world because they've been spoon fed since day one!

Each cast member was interviewed and chosen based on their relation to other potential cast members at Laguna Beach High School and although it's hush-hush, how good they look.

Laguna Beach is firken nice as a city. My second visit to Cali this summer I stopped in town before heading to San Diego. Many gated access blocks, nice beach though. The hills are right there.

Lo was the girl I liked to dislike because she looks like a girl here in my town that's a biotch.

It still has to be scripted in a way. There's no way the camera team just goes to a school and the mall and everywhere else and shots exactly whats happening. It has to be a little scripted. Its a TV show.

I think this show is so stupid, and I don't see why soooo many people like it. And what the heck...when those goes put red paint or w.e on the windows and acted like burglars, all the dumb girls could do was run around and laugh? I'd pee myself if I knew someone was out there. lol.

Yeah I just realized what I said, i didnt mean its scripted...but you can definitely tell they cut out stuff. Whenever two people are eating dinner together it shows them say two things and then they just smile at each other.

Hurrah, another sappy TV show based on rich California teeney boppers with too many emotions and hormones.

Rulz? What happened to E or S? Rules? Your laziness in adding either a E or S has resulted in this response to your lack of corectness in your posts. Just thought I'd let you know.

Just for your information you mispelled corectness. It is spelled correctness, actually it is not even a word. Just thought I'd let you know.

I just don't see how it can be real if there can be shots of a group of people at a table with multiple angles, yet you never see any other camera men. How is that possible? If it's not scripted, what do they do...Have these 'real' people pause at every sentence to change the camera angle?

Another thing I questioned was that in one episode three of the girls go to Dave & Busters...I'm pretty sure you have to be 21, or accompanied by someone over 25 to get in there. Maybe the camera man was over 25

If you beg to differ, than can you tell us how it's not scripted. There is NO TV show that isn't scripted in a way. And lets not forget this is MTV, who usually edits their shows a lot to make them look real (ummm maybe Real World, which is the most fake show ever).

Dude, I went to Dave and Busters on Monday, as no one in GA had to go to school on Mon. and Tues. (long story short-our governor is a t00l).

Me and 5 of my friends (I'm 15, they're 16, 16, 16, 16, and 17) went to D&B's for almost the whole day and put our tickets together for a minibike that goes 40 mph, but you can't go faster than 25 mph without the "death wobble".

Back on topic, who the eff cares about these people anyway? It's like people's fascination with celebrities, I just don't get it. Ohhh, there are some hot and rich people in So Cal, big shocker there . Scripted or not, the show sucks.

I, for one, don't give a damn about the "tribulations" of being rich and beautiful. OMG I broke a nail, I'm so full of angst! Stupid, just stupid.

We call that shooting at one angle for a few minutes, and then moving and shooting from another spot. Do you really think it's good film and production etiquette to shoot a live reality series scene and include the other camera men in the shot?

You can go in if you're 18 years and older, but past a certain hour, you have to be 21. And I am damn well sure those girls that were at Laguna Beach High School last year had fake ID's. And they don't look young enough to be denied entry with one. It's not a surprise for a lot of high school teens to own fake ID's. A lot of my friends do, and that's how we bought beer to drink at parties.

Willski2002 hit it right on the ball. The show sucks, scripted or not. The people that love the show just want to see more hot blondes. There are some hot gals on the O.C., and that show is so much better! I'd rather watch History of the Civil War on the History Channel than Laguna Beach.

I understand that it is necessary to change angles, but I don't see how in the middle of a conversation, it can cut to one person at one end of a table, then cut back to the original angle without either seeing a second camera filming at the same time, or the conversation being stopped just for a camera man to change angles.

Last episode I saw they were at some bonfire and there were many angles back and forth but never and visible cameras. Doesn't make sense...The people would have to continuously stop what they are saying and continue again for the camera dude to move...

I am probably explaining this really bad but I know what I mean...lol

This show does not appeal to me at all. Sure some of the female characters have good looks, but I find the plot to be repetative. "OMG PROM. YOU CAN'T TAKE HIM, HE"S MINE." "He got drunk, he came on to the wrong girl, let loose the dogs of war."

Who can sleep with who, who will cheat on who, who will drink to the end of their life?

Another show that bothers me is that 'Sweet 16' show. "Hi! My dad has a credit card!"

Not even two weeks ago, I went to a show where the artist's songs were featured on the show several times. The music really is the only thing that stands out for me.

Cheers,
'shark. =)

The first season I did like but with this second one I've not been hooked. I think the girl is Alex, Kristen's friend, I don't find her attractive so I got turned off. I did not feel the need to waste my energy learning about the new girls, so I've ignored the show the last few weeks.

My spider senses still tell me it's true that the show is not scripted. The girls do have loot to basically do whatever they want. They definitely say: "like" too many dizzying times. I can speak just as fast in Jersey but I lose 'em. Must be ADD.

On this show are they drinking alchohol at their parties? I would think MTV could get into trouble becasue of teen drinking and not stopping it. I remember one episode over the summer or something, this girl had a party and I am pretty sure they were drinking.

/\ Yeah, I'm pretty sure they drank on that show while being filmed. There are so many episodes where they show the kids with red cups and you know what's in them, and they're all acting drunk - there's no denying it. However, I don't think MTV has the right to tell those kids what to do and what not to do, if those kids find a way to get alcohol, they just have to be discreet about it (drink them in generic red party cups) while being filmed and MTV can't intervene and have a say about it.

i know the producers give them topics to talk about and edit all the footage from their, such as "how do you feel about kristin?" "talk about prom plans"

and the cameras are filming from FAR away to make the cast feel normal. And MTV does plan those camping trips, bonfires, some partys.
