How did you come across TN?

The title says it all. I found it in a google search. I was looking for a website were someone could explain how hydraulic launch systems work. An this is were I got my answer. An I never meant to actually stay here but after that I just got more and more involved in it.

I used to read the Wild Rumors and Random Notes back in the Thrill Ride days when this was the coaster forum. After Thrillride went away, I left for a few months til I stumbled back into TN for a RCT contest. The rest is history.

I found it when doing a random coaster search 1 year ago. I joined, then became hooked. As everyone else said, the rest is history.

I used to always be on Danimation.com RIP. I was looking for a web site that had a tv schedule for upcoming rollercoaster shows. I then registered then went back to danimation. then danimation shut down and i found my new home.

As I remember it, Thrillnetwork (Coaster Forum "back in the day") was originally founded back in May of 2001 alongside the newly redesigned www.thrillride.com - which was extremely popular among the online coaster community for its Screamscape-style news and rumors section and its untouched ride reviews. I remember signing up on the second day the forum started accepting member registration and I suppose somewhere down the line, the affiliation between ThrillRide! and Thrillnetwork broke and now it's an independant site/community of its own

I joined just like Chris at the same time. I was a visitor of the Thrillride! site when I began working @ SFGADV in 1998. Bob Coker had those awesome reviews written up about CHILLER, Riddler's Revenge, Superman, Alpengeist. The Wacky Rumors entertained me. Thanks to him, I've joined Thrillnetwork when it was spawned by him and others. Member since the beginning. I just didn't rack up the posts until the last year or two.

I was doing a search for theme parks and coaster since i had recently become a enthusiast. I came across TN and looked around for about a year before i actually joined. I would just visit every day and read what people were saying.

I think virtually everyone that joined way back in May 2001 (myself included) -- when it all got started -- it was because of Robert Coker and Thrillrides.

I was a huge fan of the Thrillrides website back in its glory days in 1999-2001, one of the greatest coaster site ever. Rob was an outstanding commentator, and of course who can forget the Previews section and my personal favorite Wild Rumors/Random Notes section. When Thrillrides decided to start a message boards, I joined without thinking twice.

Ah SixFlagsNews. It was a nice site, one to relax with after spending time here.

I joined in July 2001. Just quit one job and hunting for another, somehow looking at ride rumors, and signed up at the boards here.

One of my best friends from school has always been into coasters since I've known him. When i finally went to PKD for the first time, I knew why he was a big fan of them. AFter about 2-3 years of becoming steadily more interested in coasters, my coaster knowledge grew. One day were talking online and he gives me a link to go hear. And Wahlaaa.....hear I am. It was coastersrsweet if anyone is wondering who.

Its good to be hear.

I was doing a search for when Kingda Ka would re-open through AOL Search and it came up, I liked it better than gadv.com because it had all parks and coasters and everything else, and when the search lead me to gadv.com I didn't like the site that I eventually joned and look at me now. lol.

I was a big fan of Thrillride and read Coaster Forum regularly when I had access to a computer. Once my family got a computer at home I signed up for Coaster Forum.

My first roller coaster taste: Spellbreaker at LegoLand.
First REAL roller coaster taste: GhostRider at KBF.

Which therefore, hooked me onto ThrillRide.
Oh, the days of the purple CoasterForum.
Some of us may remember: Cedar Point Vs. Six Flags threads... The true height of SKC's loop... GTC... First Gen Inta = Coaster?... infamous religious threads... NSCIGC
... I could keep going....

Oh faithful disciples we were. Thrillride! was my sole source at first. Only when it went on hiatus did I give into Screamscape. Now I have TN and Screamscape hand 'n hand.

It's been a good few years. Like we Polish say; "Sto Lat!" -100 years good luck, long life.

The way I found this place was actually www.s-spower.com link page. They had information on their site at the time about Thrust Air 2000. This was before Hypersonic was built. I found their website after searching for more infromation on TA2K after watching a Discovery special that included it. At first my admiration to the site was Robert Cocker's review on Millennium Force. I started looking at the forums in June 2001 then later Registered on July 17th 2001 as MFMFMF. Later I switched my username to gigaforce310 by re-registering. Those two usernames have since been merged, but the register date is the gigaforce310, not MFMFMF. I find it funny that I have posts that predate my register date.

Danimation isnt shut down, it's just a new site name now.
I used to be on Dnet all the time, that's actually where I met a few of my now good friends. I still post there from time to time but it's died down alot now. Plus, I loved their spotlights...a lot of great parkmakers were from Danimation.
Anyway, I found TN when my buddy (was/is a mod here) told me about this site and I signed up.
