Coaster Draft 2006 Open Enrollment Sign Up

I was looking for possibly 20 members for this years Coaster Draft. I PM'd last years members first as well as a few who said they would be interested. The following responded by saying they would be interested in participating in this year's draft.

RaptorXLC, Dan G, Homer, Jimmy B, Deja Vu Rules, Jerry S, Coasterdude28, Bgwfreak, Sfft_2108, Willski2002, Jimths08, TopDrag, RidePhoto101, James and myself.

So I'd like for five more TN members who would be interested in playing. If there are any more members interested after the initial five, you can used as an alternate if someone drops out. You would take over for the person who left.

Some quick rules on how the draft works. It is beneficial to try and check how the draft is going almost daily. You have a 24 hour window to make a pick when it is your turn. You can only pick US coasters and they must be operating, they cannot be rides that are no longer running or SBNO*.

*I haven't decided yet what to do about the coasters at SFNO and SFAW yet.

Trades are also possible with other members. If for some reason you think you might miss your upcoming pick for any reason, you can PM me a list of coasters to pick on your behalf. As I did last year, I will be using the Super Bowl to determine draft order. Players who pick the winning team will pick before those who pick the losing team. Also, order will be set by who gets closest to the score.

I'll be looking to start the draft sometime in May or early June as it fits best in most, but unfortunately not everybody's schedules.

I guess you do 12 rounds on this one. Be warned coasterlove, we're doing 20 drafters, 12 rounds and its taking forever. Its been one month and we're not even halfway.

Yeah, it does take a while. The previous two drafts took about a month and a half. I do try to stay up on it a lot and remind people when it's their turn. I will try to put more emphasis and stress that people PM me if they think they might be away when their pick comes. Another thing that everyone can do that can help a lot is PM me their pick also if their turn is next after some who isn't currently logged on to TN.

So many times, I see the next four or five draft members on but we're waiting for the next person. If I had that person's pick, we could make five or six picks back to back in quick sucession. So I urge people when they come online, if they don't see the next person online before they and it might be possible you will be gone when they do, PM or IM me your pick. It will help speed up the draft immensely.

G Adv 123, you can be an alternate but since there are three or four members ahead of you, I can't say it's likely you'll get to play. Sorry. If there are spots available next year, I'll be sure to keep you mind though.

I PM'd you on 11:34am on 1-18-06. I don't have your email address and I can't be responsible for everyone to make sure they log on to TN regularly. I'm sorry this happened. The only thing I can offer you is an alternate spot that would be sixth in line.

Since there is time is left before the draft and there a few TN members expressing interest, I could possibly do an alternate draft or a head to head competition somehow. If I get a lot more interest from other members, it's something I would strongly consider as I tried to last year.

Going with what Coasterlove said.... If we can get 20 more people(14 on top of the six in line already), then we can have two drafts going and have the winners of the two compete in a championship of some sort. We could vote with the parks they have already or do five rounds or so and then vote. Just an idea to put out there.

EH, I don't like that idea. Even tho we are picking the same coasters, its just best we keep the voting in each "league" so to speak. Think of it like this. The ones in the draft now are in the NBA and the other ones are in the NBDL (National Basketball Development League)

I do like this idea. It doesn't push the first come, first served to a tiny level. Five people isn't quite enough for the luck I usually get by with.

If I get 30 members total, I might see about splitting it in two groups of 15. We'll see what happens. No guarantees though.
