Coaster Draft 2006

The 2006 Coaster Draft has now officially opened. I will go over some of the most important rules again really quick.

All coasters selected must in the US.

All coasters must be open or scheduled to be open this year.

Coasters that are no longer standing or not running this year are not eligible.

When it is a member's turn to draft, they have a 24 hour window to make their selection. If they miss that 24 hour window, it will become the next person's turn. Although the member before will still have the chance to draft if the next person has not picked yet.

A coaster can only be picked once. Once it has picked, nobody else can select it.

I want this thread to be for draft picks and updates only. All conversation about picks, possible trade offers, etc can be done here http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/...ad.php?t=38871

Also, when updating, anyone is free to do updates as long as they're accurate and done in a clean, easy to read fashion. I also don't want updates done every few picks. Since 15 posts a page is the default option, updates will be done no less than every 15 posts. So on average, we should have one update a page. There is no reason to have two or three updates on a page.

I will also ask that nobody makes suggestions for coasters people should pick. It's not fair to other members and Jimmy B will delete such posts.

When making a pick, a post should contain the full name of the coaster. Abbreviations for parks will be allowed as long as they are exact. Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags Great America can be easily confused if you only write SFGA. Remember to make it SFGAd or SFGAm. If I see someone choosing Batman: The Ride (SFGA), how am I or anyone else supposed to know which one it is?

I made some changes to the draft order since I found that PKIDelirium had been banned. I am in the process of going through the list of alternates. Whatever alternate will take a spot at the end of the round since PKIDelirium had not made any picks yet.

Also, I have noticed homer has not been on much at all lately and not since 5-26-06. He has not responded to any of my PM's or the Coaster Draft threads in the last few months. If he misses his pick which is the current pick on the clock, he will be eliminated from the draft and another alternate will fill his spot at the end of the draft.

Yeah, they had been deleted dince it was so early. It was simply a misunderstanding between you and I about when to post the picks. It was rather early at that time sine there had only been a few picks.

Jerry's update will stand since it's almost the end of a default page anyway.

And I'd like to keep this thread for picks, updates, major announcements and trades. There is another thread for conversation. This isn't directed at anyone, just a reminder.

Also, while I haven't updated the list yet, Steel will be taking the 19th pick in every round and (I forget the exact spelling) G Adv 123 will take the 20th in each round.

Ok, it's not even halfway through the first round and I'm already tired of having to PM people to remind them it's their turn. Is it really that hard for people to check on it just once a day? I've seen already a couple instances where it was somebody's turn and since it's getting close to their deadline, I see they were on last night or something close to that.

I'm done reminding people. I'll let you simply get skipped. As I see it, it's fair since first off, I told everybody beforehand, the draaft takes almost daily participation to at least check and see where the draft is. Second of all, I shouldn't have to keep an eye on all these other members because some haven't wanted to do it themself.

If you miss a first or second round pick, you're out of the draft. Period. No questions asked, no excuses. If at any point you miss two consecutive picks, same thing, you're out. In either situation, a replacement will be found and placed in the draft as how I see fit depending on the situation.

I put a lot of work checking this out and trying to help everyone as much as I can just to see some people either add to the amount of work I have to do for it or ruin for others by not participating. Well, that's over! Miss a pick now, you're out. Miss too many later, you're out.

Don't believe me, I dare you to miss a pick!
