Coaster Draft 2008: Still looking for more Alternates to sign up

Ladies and Gentlemen it is that time of year again. It is time to get the 2008 Coaster Draft underway. There are a few rules though. You must be a member in good standing with Thrillnetwork, meaning you cannot be a banned member. If you were eliminated from the draft last year, you are not eligible to play this year. Right now we are accepting sign-ups from those that participated in the draft last year. If we still have openings afterwards, then newcomers to the draft can sign up after 4pm January 14th. There are 20 available slots and in the past they have filled up quickly.

Coasterlove, Jimmy B and myself are serving as co-coordinators for the draft. Any questions you have, please contact one of us and put Coaster Draft in the subject line. Coasterlove can be reached at coasterlove@tmail.com, you can reach Jimmy and I by PM.

I can say we will surely have at least two new players this year....maybe even more.

Those who willingly gave their positions like Martin and WildeFyre due to conflicts is understandable and appreciable, and those people may sign up next week as new members if they decide to re-join.

After all three of my previous years stuck in second place, hopefully this year I can finally break through and take home the gold.

This year, I will not be participating as an active member but will be helping on a limited basis to moderate the Coaster Draft. At times, I might be around to offer assistance and other times I might not be around for days at a time. So for immediate assistance, it would be best to contact Jimmy or Andrew or other members that help to moderate the Coaster Draft.

And while I will not join as a member, maybe I will throw my name in as an alternate if there is a spot open. I might just catch the bug after seeing the Draft started.

That's correct. We need to give returning players the opportunity to sew up ther spots. After the 14th, anyone that is a registered member of TN may join. Even if you are not chosen as that starting 20, keep in miond what some past draft members and Jimmy have siad, you'll be pooled in as an alternate and most likely will see some time.

Actually, last year coasterlove made sign-ups open for new and returning players the same time, but made precedence was made for returning players until we had 20 players.

This year, to make things less confusing, I'm opening sign-ups for returning players a week ahead, but am only giving a week to lock their place up....starting the 14th, everyone who signs up after that will be listed on the roster until we have 20 players, and those who sign up -- new or returning -- after we reach 20 will be in the alternates place.

Especially the one about makeup picks, and the lack thereof.

Despite my posting that, I can guarantee someone will intiate Whinefest '08 about it at some point in the draft. Side note: Whining only makes us more adamant about our position.
