^Exactly. It's just that easy. If your turn is coming up, and you're going to be away- just PM or e-mail any (preferrably all) of the coordinators with your pick and 3-4 alternates, and we'll put your pick in for you.

When the person before you enters their pick, the 24 hour clock on you starts. If you fail to pick in that window, the clock will start for the person who picks after you.

However, if the person following you doesn't pick immediately, you may still get your pick in, provided the next person hasn't picked yet. Example:

Leo's clock starts at 10 pm on Saturday, and Jimmy picks after him. At 10 pm on Sunday, Leo still hasn't picked (He's celebrating an Eagles win). It's now Jimmy's turn, but he doesn't pick immediately. At 1 am on Monday, Jimmy still hasn't picked. Leo finds out he's missed his pick, and posts his pick. It shows in the thread with a time stamp before Jimmy's. Leo's pick would still be allowed.

Jimmy has half the Super Bowl score predictions from the registered players to determine the Draft Order. Due to Jimmy by Private Message by Sunday February 1st Noon Eastern from all players is to be a Final Score and Winner Prediction along with a Halftime Score prediction that would be used as a tie breaker if needed. Thank you.

The Draft will begin sometime around May. Jimmy will explain further when we get closer to May.

I never quite understood why we play in summer. It should be a winter thing if you ask me. After all the coasters for the year have opened and received reviews.

MAY! Then why did we base it on a game that is 3 months before!

Just too excited even though I know I will be towards the bottom of the list!

I never made the rules, I just try to keep with the same traditions so everyone knows what to expect. If coasterlove wants to change the game in any way, it's his power to do so as the inventor of the game, and he would administer notification of any alterations.

Memorial Day is the target for most new rides in the US to be open by. Maybe that's why we start in May? Your Diamondback and/or Prowler pick would seem that more genuine to go along with its actual debut. You never want to pull off a "CHILLER/Mr Freeze" which was delayed a year after the intended open year. The modern example would be Flying Turns. I feel bad for the guy that picked Cliffhanger.

We started earlier last year I think, but we normally kept with whenever the NBA draft was, which is in June I think.

I'd be up for starting it in the winter, give us something to do!

I like the winter idea to. Gives you something to do over the boring offseason.

Originally in 2004, coasterlove started the draft in June. In that inaugural draft, he didn't have a logical way to set the draft order. Until the next year he came up with the current Super Bowl system, which we use.

And really, only three months separate the Super Bowl from the start of the draft, which is a good time for players to plan out their own game and make trades. We have seen quite a few trades before the draft even started over the years. Use this time to start thinking about what coasters you might draft. Come up with a list, brainstorm a back-up plan in case your first choices are already selected. If you'd like, you can always start negotiating with other players if you want to move up in the order so you can select sooner.

^Enough time for more than one person to think of the same coaster. lol.
I have a bad feeling that my first two picks will be taken this year and they're both very important to my theme.

You could still trade at the end of the draft. We all get to be the equivalent of a MLB General Manager. Even if it takes a 3 member trade, you might just be able to pull it off. I was involved in a direct trade about two drafts ago. Who knows who may even pick just due to rank, timing, whatever to trade that pick later?

I am the worst at deciding who wins a game, and my #15 spot proves it!

Don't feel bad. Last year(my first draft) I was #20(out of 20), but was then bumped up to 19 when someone dropped out and I had some decent picks.

What are you saying? What exactly does your #15 spot prove? That's all it is is a spot in the draft, it doesn't mean anything else except that you get the 15th pick. And you're lucky that we've reduced the roster down to 16 players; it was 20 players in the last few years.

coasterb, good to see you back (but as an alternate this time).

As Jimmy explained, that's why I went with the rules in place currently. The Super Bowl is just a big event that I know a lot of people watch even if they don't like football. Also, it's not that difficult to try and make an educated guess at the score. Look at any sports section or show, see what they have to say and make a guess or prediction at it.

Yes, I know there is a lot of time between the SB and the Draft but there aren't many huge events that I know most people will be interested in and is also public to ensure no cheating. It just always happened to be summer when it started since that's when I came up with the idea and did the first one. Maybe in the future, it will be a different season. Summer has usually worked out well since that's when Thrillnetwork has it's most particpation usually anyway and those younger and in school are out and have more free time. Of course there's always the vacations to worry about but nothing is perfect.

Last year there was some coasters that surprised me going in the 20 spot. Good coasters can be had by anyone. My first involvment with the Draft was an alternate with a low spot and I made a pretty daring go with the 5-6 coasters I was left to choose. The game is what you make out of it.

Nobody is going to guess based on the Daytona 500. haha
